Yeah V is an old soul, he leaned playing sax, and he loves jazz, so this album was something army (bts fans) were not surprised to hear. He also said that he is romantic and loves the feeling of longing, so this album full of melancholy longing is perfect potraial of V sentiment. I’m a new fan of V or Kim Taehyung. I just found him by accident in KZbin with his video Le Jazz de V ( you should check it out 😊). I love his album Layover and listen to it everyday and with his new song Friends. As of this moment I’m obsessed with his Tiny Desk Korea performance. It is so respectful to artists to focus on the message they want to share (especially nowadays when people tend to have short attention spans and life is very busy and quick). Personally, my favorite BTS solo albums are Layover (Kim Taehyung) and Indigo by RM (Kim Namjoon). But I love all of the solo albums. They are all unique like the BTS members. I always start my day listening to Dday by Agust D (Suga of BTS, Min Yoongi) because Future's gonna be okay and JITB by J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) when preparing to go to work. Face by Jimin (Park Jimin), Hope on the Street by J-Hope and Golden by Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook, you already know him) with Jin's songs (he doesn't have an album yet, but he has a song called The Astronaut which is a see you later song for Armys) are my usual jam while traveling to and from work to home. I love listening to all of their songs daily as they help me focus more. I don't know why. Also, RM of BTS is releasing new album on Friday, 24th of May. You totally picked up on what he intended with Layover - except the songs aren't autobiographical - it could be about a love interest he's had - but the way I've seen him describe his intention was choosing songs with longing, which is an emotion he really likes to sit with - and how this time in his career, while BTS are on a break from group activities - this time of him releasing his own solo work also feels like a time of layover until they can perform together again - and longing for times that have past.

I 100% encourage you to explore all of it (at your own pace), and to explore them as a group as well! Jack in the box by j-hope from bts next, but since its a full hip-hop album the lyrics are a bit more complex and less direct, so u'll need an actual bts dedicated translation site that could explain the world plays and references thag might only make sense in korean (like doolset bangtan) or a good lyric video (not the popular ones since they aren't accurate, but someone like DIAL6137) and there's not a lot of English in it too so if u wanna hear korean the rap albums from bts members will be full of it. I alao suggest tiny desk perdormances for layover bc he's amazing. Also singularity live. Singularity is a solo song by V from a bts album, but the CHARISMA in the live performance, the choreography, the literal FACIAL EXPRESSIONS are insane. This man has one of the most captivating FACES ever like he kinda look unreal and the combination of that with the insane stage presence and soulful voice is so good. Jungkook's album was about all the phases and stages of a romance, in order from first flirtation to breakup and aftermath. Many of the songs were dedicated to ARMY. On it's surface V / Taehyung's album is full of love songs that communicate a sense of longing. It's really conceptually about wanting to run away to a virtual world where BTS and ARMY can be together. You see this more in the MVs, which are all connected, but especially the MV for Slow Dancing. He says the name, Layover, is about a stop along the way in a journey, just a short rest until you continue on your way. He made this album before he and the rest of the members had to leave for their mandatory military service in S Korea and that is what he is referring to as a pause in their journey, in their careers and with each other and with ARMY. They are starting to return next month, when eldest member Jin finishes his service period. j-hope is next, retuning in October, and the rest will be back in summer 2025, including V. Incidentally, V has a couple other songs that dropped after he left for the military you might want to check out. One is a collab song with UMI called "Wherever u r" and the other is a song called "Fri(end)s." He also has other solo songs, OSTs from dramas and singles if you are interested. So does JK, and so does every member of BTS outside of their solo and group albums. Also, the rap line of BTS have three albums each out and RM is dropping a fourth album this month (yes while he is in the military. He finished it before he left.) Their albums (all concept albums) are connected in telling their personal stories over the years and include connected songs and themes, so you might want to listen to them in order - IF you are interested in them. I happen to think all their albums are masterpieces, group and solo. Rap Line Albums are: ~ RM Albums ~ RM Mono Indigo Right Place, Wrong Person (out later this month) ~ Suga/Agust D Albums ~ Agust D D-2 D-Day ~ j-hope Albums ~ Hope World Jack In the Box Hope On the Street He also released a single which is a love song to ARMY just before he enlisted. It's a collab with J Cole called "On the Street." The other album is Jimin's album "Face." Which I think you will love. He also released a single which is a love song to ARMY which dropped just after he enlisted, which is called "Closer Than This." Jin did not have time to release an album before he went into the military but he did release a single, "The Astronaut" as an I Love You to ARMY before he left, and he does have other singles and OSTs if you are interested in checking those out. He is the breathy, emotional ballad belter of the group. We expect an album out of him after he returns.

You have to watch the MVs as well as some live performances of these songs, he sounds even better live!! 🔥💜 I highly recommend his Tiny Desk Performance (he sings 3 songs from this album) and you will fall even more in love!

LOVE this reaction. tip for the other members albums please use lyric videos from dial6137, enjoybtsmore or zaty farhani especially for the rappers as their lyrics are a lot more complicated and whatever site youre using will not capture the correct lyrics (i assume youre using genius or a random lyric site most of those use google translate not good for korean language) especially for D day by agust d aka suga from bts, or indigo by rm from bts or jack in the box by j-hope from bts those 3 albums are so intricate with the lyrics. love golden and layover but they were more straight forward lyrically still poetic and beautiful but not as complex and bts usually is. highly suggest also circling back to jungkook and V's other songs not in their solo albums. example jungkook's song still with you and V's song scenery also for bts songs i suggest starting with the song Rain use a lyric video since theres no music video youll get a good feel of the group in one if their many sounds. :)

​​@@jordyreactsthe rapline's solo albums are full 100% hip-hop song, like it's actual rap albums not even pop rap, it has everything from diss tracks, to personal struggles and stories, social commentary...etc the lyrics are very honest and complex and the subjects are also original... When they release an album it always creates huge discussions and even debates among kpop stans on Twitter who think they are calling out their faves even when they don't mention people explicitly... I still remember the "slaves to KZbin" and "weak pill poppers" lyric from a BTS member made so many fandoms mad. And even if there's 3 members who rap, they each have a completely different style even when doing technically the same genres, they are so different. Same for the 7 members of BTS as a whole. When u listen to all their solo albums and songs as a whole it's hard to believe they are all from the same group, the only thing they have in common is quality music.
