V/Line Trains at Bunyip and Longwarry (Gippsland Line)

I was told that piles were sunk at the bridge site and kept dissapearing. Under the bridge there are two (vandalized) fenced off areas which might have been where the piles were sunk. I was told the existing bridge sits on pontoons but I don’t think so. The two stations were manned by safeworking people who handed the driver a hoop with the staff attached and this was handed to the man at the other end. On a special DERM trip I actually (with permission) received the staff hoop on my arm with the train not stopping and I handed it to the fellow at Longwarry. I think the DERM special was an AREA trip to Sale Wharf just before the old Sale terminal station was demolished and the Sale Wharf line was not retained when the new Sale station was built.

Do you know what the crane was for? Like it could of been used for things like transferring goods onto the goods platform, I don’t know.

Another fact. the South side line is the only side been up graded for fast rail between longwarry and moe. Though the day the trains swap side so the peak survives always runs on the upgrade side

ThebusofdoomFSX Awesome - thank you! I thought that was likely to be my last flight on a 747 but Qantas is operating a 747 on a domestic flight from Sydney to Adelaide in November (a positioning movement for an Antarctica charter) so I’ve booked on the Sydney - Adelaide flight. Should be fun. 😉
