Andi, you are a "Fount of Knowledge" for so many things! :) Another very informative video from you - I never knew picks could be so varied these days! If i played guitar, i'd definitely try them out! I personally liked the sound of the Shredder and the Nexus best. Looking forward to your next video on the 17th! :))

Thanks a lot Barbara - I've been called many things, and most of the time the person calling me them has been right. 'Fucking asshole' tends to be common, as does 'that weird guy'. 'Fount of knowledge' was a new one for me and for that I am eternally grateful!

Thank you! You have no idea how annoyingly hard it was to try to get even-sounding, equal pick attack and positioning takes with each of the picks, to try to eliminate errors like picking closer to the bridge with one pick compared to the other and so on. Of all the videos I've done it's probably taken the most work :D But I'm glad you enjoyed it! What sort of picks do you use?

I think id prefer the nexus. I've always tended to knock the point off and love large picks. Cool video thanks, gonna check these out now.

You're welcome! Really solid-gripping, though it can take time to get used to the thickness if you go for one of the really massive ones (like the Nexus). I hope you enjoy your picks, and don't forget to post a video!

The exposure on your main camera was very high. Not a deal breaker. I just want to share something I noticed that may help you improve the great thing you've got going here. Still, you've got me hooked, I'll be getting a few to try very soon. Thank you for such a succinct overview.
@AndiKravljaca5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment - yes, it's one of those things you don't notice until you're done recording, and you can't put data back that the exposure has taken away. Thank you for taking the message to heart anyway!

It might just be me, but I felt you played the smoothest and fastest with the psycho??
@AndiKravljaca7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insight! I agree that it feels like a very smooth pick to play. The contour is very similar to the Snake, but the pick is larger, and easier to grip, which makes for more confident playing. The contour makes picking very smooth and fast, but it also diminishes some of that 'chuck' sound which sometimes can be attractive, and makes it sound more like a rolling pick attack. Horses for courses, but I've definitely found that it's a great pick!

I have that Jackson DKMG guitar with same inlays as you, reverse headstock, emg hz pickups with afterburner
@AndiKravljaca4 жыл бұрын
Hey there! It does have that DKMG look on the fretboard, but it's a totally different guitar actually. This is an SL model, so it's a neck-through, and it has Seymour Duncans as opposed to EMGs. But they're both great guitars, the DKMGs have some of the most evil sounding tones I've heard. I hope you enjoy it!

Do they do any sharp picks? Loving the omen computer by the way! I have an omen laptop ironically, although it's probably not as powerful as yours :P
@AndiKravljaca7 жыл бұрын
alistairbell88 I would say this is the sharpest: v-picks.com/shop/shredder-lite/ 1.5 mm with a sharp edge and zero flex. And yes, I love this thing! it's not only really quiet, but also genuinely versatile and cleverly designed and constructed. And of course, the looks....

Yeah it looks wicked! Hmm...I might have to check those picks out. I've been using the same picks for almost going on 10 years!

Hi, does the psycho glide well over the strings when held parallel to them?
@AndiKravljaca6 жыл бұрын
It does indeed! It has a really thick beveled edge so it almost doesn't matter which angle you hold it at, it behaves like a slanted pick anyway if you understand what I mean. It absolutely doesn't get caught in the string. I find it really good for bass!

Better than Dunlop Jazz III?
@AndiKravljaca5 жыл бұрын
I have two Jazz IIIs, and I would say so, yes! But what do I know. I use big triangular picks.
@horstlippitsch5 жыл бұрын
Triangel picks also better for speed? They are much bigger than Jazz III, It's better if they are bigger? thx master for comment:)
@AndiKravljaca5 жыл бұрын
@@horstlippitsch The reason I've always used them is that they give me a lot of area to grip. The part of the pick that sticks out of my hand, so to speak, is just as small as with a 'normal pick', but I'm holding this huge pick in my fingers that just lets me grip it better. So it depends on how much grip you need, really!
@Martell2767 жыл бұрын
I've been a Dunlop Jazz III user and abuser for years. I might have to give these a whirl.
@AndiKravljaca7 жыл бұрын
How do you hold those tiny things?! I have two Jazz III's in my collection and while the tip feels great (huehue) I just don't have enough pick in my hand to hold on to it!
@Martell2767 жыл бұрын
Andi Kravljaca No doubt! I remember years back when I first made the jazz III transition, they were very small and awkward at first. Many times I'd go back to a standard sized pick. Eventually they stuck with me, and now days, are an extension of my fingertips, a part of who I am haha. Now a standard pick feels incredibly weird, and I could never go back.
@AndiKravljaca7 жыл бұрын
James Martell It would be interesting to see you play the big triangle, and me the Jazz! :D
@Powerslave2146 жыл бұрын
Once you get used to a small pointed pick like a Jazz III it's very hard to use anything else. Regular picks feel like giant paddles in comparison.
