V Rising - Octavian Guide

i used the slashers and the reaper in this fight. the slashers are AMAZING in bossfights because the stealth ability will make the boss target a random location instead of you. so when octavian uses the whirlwind you can dodge out and stealth when he turns around to just completely negate the mechanic. ive seen many people struggle with this boss but choosing your weapons and abilities carefully is key imo.

Dunno if you knew this or not, but one way to save your bloodpool is when you're needing to heal and out of combat, just use the bear form. you get approx 1.5-2 hp per tick regen in bear form and it doesn't drain your BP.

It takes a good long while when you have 300+ hits. But it's an important trick particularly if you don't want to leave a graveyard for some reason.

It's possible to cheese this guy! Fight him in one of the side rooms (where you usually find a bunch of chests and boxes). When he says "Here's an old trick!" quickly move to the other side of the wall. He is programmed to always move towards you with his Whirlwind attack, but since he can't, he'll get stuck up against the wall. When he's done, you can go back in and finish him off.

Yo thanks for the Tipps, really helped me! I even beat him in a sloppy attempt during the day waiting for the night. It was all about avoiding his attacks and do ranged spells.

Glad you brought up the multiple fighter tip bc I was wondering about that when my wife and I would fight him. Every single time we fight he just tears us up and spawns more archers. His whirlwind attack becomes broken too bc he starts acting like a freaking pinball and bouncing off the walls and closing distance so quickly it doesn't give your spells or dodge any time to cool down. And he doesn't just attack whichever player is currently attacking him. He'll focus on one and chase them until they pretty much fully leave the camp and then come back to finish off whoever is left with the buffed mechanics. I try being the close fighter while my wife did range attacks and she would always get targeted by him and 2 archers every single time. She'd get chased off or killed then I'm in that small room dealing with his crap and fire arrows coming from different directions lighting the place on fire. It's so broken sometimes. Thx for the tip, though, bc we've gotten as far as we can tech-wise and need to beat him to start crafting better stuff. We even took on the Azriel priest guy with relative ease and he's lvl 60. Freakin crazy

This boss is driving me fing crazy. When it's just 1v1 he's a joke, but it's the God dammed dead eyes he spawns in. They take to long to kill and if I take 2 seconds to focus the DE he's on my ass attacking me.

Loving this game. Was fighting Tristan the vampire Hunter, turned into a kite game when Lydia decided to join in and a Alpha Wolf came in twice during the fight. Lmao got the kills though. So fun

Thanks for the video, Damone! This fight can definitely be a huge pain. I've found myself not really changing abilities too much, so I'll try that out for this guy. I love the reaper though. Definitely my favorite abilities.

I used the small room/corridor at the front entrance of the boss room as you walk in. It should be on your right. I used the double-dash ability to simply cheese all of his mechanics by going on either side of the wall. When the add spawns, make it the kill prio and continue onward. I used: Sanguine Coil, Chaos Volley, Double Dash, Charge-Stun ultimate (it was all I had at that time).

Spectral guardian is a game changer for this fight. When he spins to win. Thow it between you and him. It lasts 7 seconds and shields you the whole time. Meaning his whirlwind is useless

I found that first dealing with that mob that pats around the area helped big >> I kited them back into that little area, tooled them to death, then pulled the boss. Much easier.

Fighting him with multiple people is a nightmare. He summons fire archers for each player present and they turn the whole arena into a bone fire.

This video saved my life! My friend and I were doing duos..and we're under level..and he was WHOOPING OUR ASS..when he summons the militia longbow dudes..and starts spinning it's way too much to handle lol. Then as soon as he stops spinning he summons more. I'm gonna try it solo now!

Beat Octavius on my own. The Shield ultimate was insanely good and the frost dash for a shield. The poison heal is also pretty clutch, plus the illusion skeleton summon

Bosses seem to scale a lot based on the number of players. I know when I fought him the amount of damage you were dealing wouldnt even move is health bar. I know they spawn more adds and shoot more projectiles per person as well. Don't think their damage adjusts but I am pretty sure their health definitely does.

I got blind on him (as on any Vrising boss) so far he was pain in the ass, mainlz due to constatn repawn that patrol in his room. I used Scythe chaos wave and shield of the damned that summon skelet on block. And for movement was that recast one. I died twice, retreated like 5times, and it took 4 ingame days. But it was fun. I beat him in the end

"He can't like instantly change his direction" Actually I found out the hard way that he can. He was a pain for me strickly because of that as I tried dashing through him, and even used the Chaos dash for the 2nd charge but he just followed me no matter where I dashed including through him. I ended up having to find 79% rogue blood for the ability CDs and then I took the Undead shield ability to spawn a skeleton which took some of the aggro, and prevent him from instantly changing direction to come at me. That on top of basically a 6 second CD double dash gave me enough breathing room to kite out the whirlwind, literally had to kite him out of the boss arena and jump down the clift to the side of the stairs to the outside which got him stuck on a corner where he couldn't hit me and just whirlwinded air, to beat this guy.

Was just messing with him for the first time today and am under leveled. First couple times he didn't do this but then something flipped and he started following me as well as his ability that pulls you to his became unavoidable but was not too hard to avoid first couple tries. Gonna reboot and see if it goes back to something more predictable.

My buddy and I just beat this guy last night. He's a pain in the butt! During the phase 2 whirlwinds, I found he likes to get stuck on walls, so bringing him into the nook to the East of the arena can get him stuck and can completely nullify that attack.

OK, I will tell you the way to kill this boss. Not for the younger, better gamers. This is old, somewhat cheaty. Strategy works 6/6/2022. In the level bellow the boss room, there is a tiny tent. The boss will happily follow you out to the tiny tent. You can make him go round and round the tent, waiting on chaos bolt to recharge. No, it does NOT solve the whirlwind problem but it does help against the adds since you can usually isolate them. I actually fed on an archer! (perfect situation, not recommended). If you are feeling guilty just remember: fire archers are a dev cheat. This boss took me 15+ hours to do. I simply felt I needed merciless set but I didn't get it until I had ALL but two items in the scholars table filled. If you're in the same boat, may you have better luck than that. Actually, you will. Not getting the merciless chest drop and having it land as the 3rd from last is ridiculous. And another flaw in the game but hey.

Sorry, but this is not an easy clap. I'm at gear score 58 and got owned by him just as he hit 50%. Just no way to solo this until you're higher gear. You did this on a private server....probably got the settings tuned down to easy or something.

I can't explain his 390+ health, Full merciless hollowfang + the reaper will give a max HP of 345 - and give you a gear score of 61. So at 58 his health should be
