Singularity is the ultimate bias wrecker song in BTS's discography. I'm OT7 but, this one right here..... and Stigma are in my top 10 all time favs. The fact that you were shocked into silence and loving the vibe is everything. 😁 I sat up in my chair when I heard this one and did a 24 hour rabbit hole of all things V. The duality, his uniqueness, the quirks...dayum. RM lyrics, Vs vocals and them saying we gonna make a straight up neo-soul, RnB vibe....delish!

One of my favourite songs. Bts songs are never the "love" songs one imagines. The rack and hand act in the beginning screamed of narcissism to me. Then there were scenes of looking into or sitting by side of water. I guess it is showing that love yourself does not mean this. The mask is also a thing running through the songs.

I remember reading a lyric analysis about those being references to a narcissistic god who died in a lake after falling into it because he was too busy admiring his reflection in the lake (or something like that) it's so interesting to think about all the different ways you can interpret BTS' songs

He sat by the riverside in longing and turned into a flower. The flower Narcissus got its name from that. All these symbolisms are there in the MV. Looking into the water, seeing the image, disturbing it with his hand, sitting by the water with a look of longing and the flowers. A lot of times there are several concepts running together as in Blood sweat and tears and The Black swan. Like a tryptich. I think it is the same here. The Narcissus and the 2 concepts (fake love and the book) as explained by Bookish theories.

Hi, love Taehyung and his music. His voice and himself is very unique. I would say that people do not know what to do or how to explain someone like him. But in fact he does not need explanation. You hear his voice and will feel something. Look for his music like sweet night, he seems very romantic, sensitive and fully aware of the feeling "love". I feel like the choreo was "fast" on purpose given that the song seems to tell a story of someone's inner self being lost to their artist persona or public persona. But if you look closely they hit every beat in the dances so it's not disconnected from the rhythm of the song.

Sebastine you have a great taste in music. Yes, this song is one of the best solo songs in BTS albums. You clearly enjoy vocals more than rap in general I think. I am surprised though youskipped Blue and Gray when you listened to the BE album. I think you will like that one too. As for other solos, you also have Jungkook's My time, Still with you, and Euphoria (which you enjoyed in the bts video you watched, and Jimin's Filter and Lie.

I wish there was a textbook or class I could take to be guided through BTS music. RM really reads some deep shit. I did read Hermann Hesse’s book “Demian” which RM has said influenced him. (Great read, btw) There were quotes directly from the book that RM sometimes speaks at the beginning or end of some songs. I’ve got a good educational background (a Master’s and professional school) and I can’t quite grasp the different levels of meaning. Maybe RM should publish a reading list. I swear I’d read it.
