@@Jing_Ling_Uncles I really appreciate how they not only work with black musicians but it feels like an actual collaboration if that makes sense? Here Tae introduces the band and gives them lots of space for solos, and in other collabs they each chose songs that showed a knowledge of the artist's work, and wrote about subjects they care about, communicating through the music not just using someone for clout. Not to mention how often they shout out black musicians, including some quite obscure ones, and consistently give credit to influences and samples. I remember after 'ON' came out they even released a mini documentary about the marching band and gospel singers they worked with and the history of that music. Navigating the line between appreciation and appropriation is hard, but I feel like they put in effort and actually care.

Regarding the singers nodding when Tae was talking.... the singers and band are artists that live in south Korea so it is more than likely that they speak some Korean and can understand what he says. 😅 Tae has a deep love for jazz, blues, neo-soul and had studied saxophone, trumpet and piano. He perfers to play a lot of jazz and classical music in his time off. He is an "old soul". Tiny desk Korea just started.... Tae is their first guest.

I don't speak Korean myself but I was on another channel with someone who did and they made a clarification to the translations that one made me realize again how much we miss when we don't speak natively and two V speaks so prettily. The Korean speaker commented that at the end when V was speaking about giving Army lots of love, he actually said something like "filling it up with pretty hearts" to paraphrase. That feels so V and also feels like what he gave us in this album and all the live performances, especially this one. I think this version feels like his true essence. Great review. I am not a singer but always appreciate the insights you give on this channel during your reactions.

Sorry I’m so late to this party! Wanted to let you know, V can hit those high notes you are questioning. There is a song called ‘Stigma’ by BTS that he sings solo that shows his range. Also, all 7 men of BTS are known to be humble and caring, and look after the crew that they work with, and make sure that each person is recognized for their contributions to the production. It’s why so many people wish to work with them and why they are so beloved. Borahae 💜

@@honks9484 I don't like the repetitive chord progression in the chorus especially.
