It’s really amazing that Hubble is able to capture so many beautiful pictures when it just orbits the Earth. Especially the pictures of Saturn, which is very far from Earth. Every one of the pictures in the video was beautiful, Not one was boring or uninteresting. Also, not to mention that they aren’t paintings or hoaxes. They are genuine pictures. Another great video V101! Also, another suggestion for a spacecraft video. Maybe a video about the Ulysses spacecraft, the spacecraft that was launched in 1990 to study the Sun's poles. These images from our universe are absolutely breathtaking! I can't even find the words to properly describe something so miraculous. I also couldn't help but notice the uncanny resemblance between the stars, the galaxies, and planets in our universe to the gemstones and crystals here on earth. For example there is this opal called the Contraluz opal. And it literally looks like there is a brown nebula like cluster inside it. Diamonds , sapphires, rubies, amethyst, the list goes on. I've always been amazed by that.

Incredible images! Some of these I’ve captured with my very humble 8” Earth-based back yard telescope. For example the Ring Nebula is an easy target to get an image of. But the amazing views of some of these far distant galaxies are the most impressive and truly show Hubble’s reach deep into space.

Absolutely stunning images! Despite the problems it experienced after launch with spherical aberration, the Hubble Servicing and repair missions were able to put things right, and the Hubble got even better with each Servicing mission. It is truly a great tribute to the work of astronauts and engineers that 13 years after the last Hubble flight, the telescope is working just as well now. Of course, the Hubble will not last forever but it has lasted long enough that the recently launched James Webb Telescope should soon take over and send back even better images - we should not have to wait too long now !

@jonathanjones1172 жыл бұрын
I thought the exact same thing when I saw it was launched. Exciting
@Midnight_Lantern2 жыл бұрын
Its not stronger, its entirely different. Hubble operated on our visual spectrum of colour, whereas the Webb will be infrared spectrum, both are unparallelled and equal...but yes different.
@07419212 жыл бұрын
@@Midnight_Lantern yes jwst sees in a different spectrum but their resolutions can be compared and jwst is far superior. Further infrared will only allow us to see further through the dust
@Midnight_Lantern2 жыл бұрын
@@0741921 JWST is designed for infrared, whereas hubble is designed for the visible spectrum, and therefore the resolutions are appropriate to what each is designed to do. In this sense neither is superior. The two have very different jobs, and compliment one another. James Web cant imagine what hubble can, and hubble cant infrared long distances like JW, which needs a bigger mirror to cover these long stretches, permeating dust clouds. They balance each other well. NASA's words originally, btw not mine.

I met one of the astronauts that worked on the Hubble upgrade when it's optics needed correction. It was 93 and he was giving a lecture at a University. Just before the lecture they had a banquet and I was standing in line and a woman Infront of me asked if I knew who the man standing behind me was. I turned around and looked but didn't recognize him. She said he's an astronaut, which I then turned back to greet him. He overheard the whole thing and talked to me for about fifteen minutes about my academics and my interests in space. One of the coolest interactions with a person I've ever had.
