I know eventually the time's going to come, when you're going to have to upgrade your vehicle. And I don't know if it's just me but, I just love your Jeep. I get it, you're looking for something bigger, something more accommodating. I've just been amazed by your setup, how efficient it is and all the places you've been. I know it's a stupid thing to say but, we haven't just fell in love with your story, we've also fall in love with that beautiful Jeep of yours. Interested in seeing what your choice will be, however no matter what, I'm going to miss that little Jeep of yours when you do. Also I'm Amazed in how you have grown, honing your craft, becoming a true story teller. just know that we are grateful, extremely grateful for the gifts that you have bestowed on us with your videos, story's and your adventures you share with us. Enjoy your downtime, and we look forward to your next upload in 2 weeks. Be safe Chris😀

Yes, it’s going to be a really tough moment...but inevitably that moment will come and he needs to plan for it. Initially I was thinking he should go with a JL, but then I thought about the investment he has in the long range America fuel tank and other items, which not be able to be transferred/converted over to the JL.

Great episode! Just a tip for eating backpacking meals while car camping: I always dump the food into the pot of boiling water. It's much easier to eat and you can keep in warm while it hydrates. The instruction have you cook it in the bag for the convenience of cleanup while backpacking.

Chris, you are definitely not lame. Whenever I'm wheeling Solo I always try to err' on the side of caution. Keep your wheels on the ground.... At least 3 of them! Definitely keeping an eye on the weather in the Rockies. Hail storms can be nasty along with the lighting in that dry mountain air. Safe travels Perry

@Way to go, Craig Well, that's your opinion Craig. Been in the mountains plenty of times and have had the weather change for the worse in a matter of minutes.... Chris your videos are second to none, I start looking forward to your next along about Thursday afternoon... Hey that crack in the fender. Get yourself a drill bit somewhat larger than the cracks width and drill a hole in the sheet metal right at the end of the crack. It relives the stress being created within the crack to stop it growing further.

I always enjoy and appreciate the places you visit and your photographic interpretation of them. The memorial to the trains was interesting. The area you are in was full of narrow gauge railways serving mining interests and most were connected to each other. For example, the tourist train between Durango & Silverton was connected to the Combres & Toltec which is mainly in New Mexico. Quite a history.

I remember when I was very young my foster dad said, " Never give up. Once you commit to something no matter how hard it is, or dangerous, you will over come those obstacles" . I turned around once during a hike to Lake Blanca one year because of bad weather. When I got back to the parking lot some guys asked if I was part of the photo crew for the topless photo shoot at the lake? I learned a valuable lesson that day. If you are going to be an adventure guy you are going to take some risk otherwise you are just a jeep guy driving down some dirt road. You totally lamed out on that hike and then put it in the video. I still like your videos but man up dude.

I don't know if Jeep has a museum, but when the time comes Chris's "Orange Wonder" sure deserves to be a part of that or any collection. Fiat Chrysler also needs to pony up and gift Chris a brand new Rubicon since he has been a significant and free brand ambassador now for a couple of years.

Ophir Pass is on my bucket list. I passed by the town of Ophir in 2004 but didn't do the pass because I only had a 2WD pickup. The town of Ophir itself is pretty interesting. I stopped into the post office, just a tiny hut, and talked to the lady there. She said the people of Ophir don't like people visiting. The shops are basically hidden and you have to know where they are or you'll never find them. The sign for the town was on the side of the post opposite the road so people couldn't see it. She also told me the town went to court and sued the state to get the sign with the town name removed from the road.
