5 stops is usually good enough.. but it also depends on the lens.. using an f/1.2 lens and shooting wide open could be a problem.. No matter how many stops you buy, please check if there is drop in sharpness, color cast, polarizing X, etc. These could ruin the footage.

If you don’t have an HSS flash, this will be helpful Helpful in long exposures during daytime. Some cameras don’t have fast enough shutter speed to cut down light from an f/1.2 lens. ND filters will be useful in those situations too

Just a quick note .. as far as I understand (please feel free to correct me..) going more than 'double the shutter speed' while on video is fine - if shooting for slow motion .. ? isnt it ? because I have noticed good/better sharpensess when shot over 1/200 or 1/400 (60fps or 120fps) and slowed down in post production.

Motion blur is inversely proportional to shutter speed. The reason you see “sharper” images is because you are cranking up the shutter speed. In order to get the normal motion blur (widely accepted) 1/240 for 120fps and 1/120 for 60fps is the way to go. That’s the 180 degree shutter speed
