I’ve been using my V3 with my narrow key digital piano for about a year and didn’t take the time to work out how to use the app. I had a New Year’s Eve gig with a band that needed other sounds in addition to piano and this worked beautifully! It’s so powerful and simple (once you watch your video). Thanks again.

Hi Chuck, the audio 1/4 inch audio outputs are TRS, I found out. My sound problem was you had to change the local off in my Casio MZX500 in the midi menu screen. Thanks

Chuck, I recently picked up the V3 piano Xl product. I am planning on using it with an old Johannus Sequencer at church to play our music.(the old Rembrandt has bit the dust and we don't have an organist. I also have a DGX620 that I would like to hook up to play on occasion using the voices. Can you give me an idea how to do this. There is a USB A and a USB B on the keyboard but no 5 pins. the sequencer I have does have the 5 pin MIDI connections.(In and Out.) Mahalo for your help on this if you can..Tony

Hi Chuck, whoever designed the tablet screens deserves a medal. Seems the audio out sockets are TRS (stereo) sockets, or does the internal circuitry require mono plugs to short out the ring for normally configured mono right and left output?

Thanks for the explanation of use with a tablet. It transforms the product. Seems the piano patches/presets are all variations/tweaks of just two pianos. The zone/layering/splitting features are impressive. We didn't see how precisely the key ranges/zones can be defined, but I'm guessing that there's scope to make whatever user defined zones you could ever need. The main patches sound good, but we're only listening through KZbin and whatever compression and filters it applies. Is the detail of the main patches much more profound than what you'd hope to find on a sub $2k portable digital piano?

Honestly, I’ve had the V3 Piano XXL for 2 years now, and it sounds at least as good as my $3K Kawai CA49 (Kawai SK-EX and EX samples). I personally enjoy the V3 main piano samples better for their timbre. The V3 Piano XXL have a sweet rounded tone, while still having clarity in the midrange. While the Kawai house sound is very good, their warmth can sometimes get in the way of clarity. I prefer the EX sample over the newer SK-EX for instance, but then the EX is not as smooth in its velocity changes as the newer sample either. So, to me, the V3 Sound Piano XXL sounds just as good if not better than a $2-3K digital. Velocity changes are smooth, attack and decay are natural, and the timbre of the main acoustic pianos are excellent. If you are only using the main piano sounds, you dont even need the controller with it if your piano can send Program messages like the Kawai CA49 (or at all if you just need the Bosendorfer Imperial 290 sample, which is the device’s default). What’s also nice about the V3 Sound app is once you select the sample you want, the last chosen sample is saved even if you turn off your tablet or change to a different app on it. The V3 will hold the sample it is currently on until the V3 module itself is turned off. Hook the V3 up to a usb power bank and a ripcord adaptor, and it doesnt even need to be connected to ac power. You could take it portable.

You're thinking broadcast/realtime mode which this is not. This is all done in post production, same as any movie. 3 to 4 cameras are normally used here.

I have been looking for a decent grand piano module for classical music om my CLP645 Yamaha digital grand. But also these sounds do not convince. Neither did the Ravenscroft Ipad version. Is there any professional module out there that I must consider? Thank you so much!

The V3 is £400gbp plus another 99 for the control..That's a lot of cash for a little box of tricks and I can't see the value in it over buying a decent digital piano like a Yamaha P125..But I guess I'd rather have 20 odd useable sounds than 600+ , so it's not for me, however I must admit to enjoying all your channel and keep up the great informative & interesting reviews which help us in our music purchase decisions.

Hi this tutorial is complete in all part a good video, audio and your descriction. In this days i wish buy a v3 piano or sonority+ usb controller that very utility. I need know how have you done for implentation of chanell midi by your master keyboards. Do you can send me in mode easy many collegament soket mifi between master, v3 and pc or tablet? I've how master one korg pa 4x 76 keys, another midi controller m-audio 4 octave, one imac 27" + mainboard ( audio card m-audio 296) between my imac and mixer. Now my korg midi out for old expander organ viscpunt ( but is obdolete) i change with ferrofish. Thank you for your good work that's very esaustive. Regard Modesto

No, the V3 modules all require plugged into a midi keyboard (which can do Channel changes, and Program change controls) or connected via bluetooth (using V3 Control dongle and the V3 control app on ipad or android tablet) to a midi keyboard that does not have these features. Wish someone would have told me this before I put down $400 on a piano module that my keyboard cannot use. This channel and other sites all said this was "plug and play" using any midi keyboard -but fail to mention it actually needed certain midi features like Channel change and program change controls. Dont get me wrong, I think the tablet/bluetooth approach is worth it because it's still more portable than carrying around or flying with a full size stage keyboard. It takes all the controller features needed and delegates them to a tablet if your midi keyboard doesnt support the functions. Still, I'm going to have to save for the dongle, maybe a new ipad, and find a way to power everything on the go. For travel, there is no other option, if you like these sounds. The other option is to find a midi keyboard that does have the needed midi features and you can avoid using a tablet and bluetooth. My Kawai Es110 (and the other ES line) can do both channel and program changes. So, is truly plug and play, but also, I would't be able to fly with any of those heavy and expensive pianos. Hopefully, they will continue this product and just put everything all in one box and make it truly accessible with any midi controller and use disposable batteries or chargeable via powerbank.
