V4 ARRMA Kraton 6s "SECOND BIG BEATDOWN!" (with teaser end footage of the Outcast 4s)

Out for a Bash fix with the V4 Arrma Kraton 6s. Due to an arm breakage on the Outcast 4s early on, I wasn't able to upload a vid so I had the itch to get the Kraton out. Still running all stock except for HR chassis braces and diff oil setup. Truck was a total BEAST once again and performed very well! No breaks except a blown ring/pinion in the rear diff. Time to put in the extra shim! At the end is a little footage of the 4s Outcast. Thanks for watching!

@@RCDUDE81 eric do diffs sound diffrent in v4 i just tried v4 out owned outkast almost year i pretty good at bashing her and had no skills w kraton but i tried right out box didnt even tighten shoc collars way too mushy i bash in tight quarters two ramps if i backed up hit full speed id land in the bay 😆

@@rcplayer7581 I know the V4 diffs are pre shimmed. Pretty butter smooth. I did add an extra outter shim against the bearing on front and rear for the ring and input mesh. Two bashes and my front input went!😬🤯

Awesome Bash Brother 👊!!!! The V4 is such a dang BEAST😱. Killer terrain rip and gnarly Mega sends Eric 👀. Yeah I had some mild slippage towards the end of my last V4 run. You nailed it about needing the extra crown gear bearing shims👍. Just about to fine tune mine finally. Too many projects and not enough time 🤣. Appreciate the heads up on 4s A arms. Didn't think they would actually be available yet 😝. Gotta say you push these rigs as hard as any Brother 👌. awesome video buddy as always.....your one of the dudes that I look up to when it comes to bashing my kraton or any of my cars. kKeep up the good work and that insane jumping because it pushes us other guys to send it hard and to take chances to hit bigger stuff. I use a robinson racing extra hard pinion also. I started with the 16 tooth and my temps were not extreme or anything but I would sometimes get to 160 so I ended up finding my sweet spot at 14 tooth R. Racing extra hard Have a good one bro.

Nice jumping, flipping and flying! The Kraton is a beast 😎 It’s nice when they are near stock because they are so much lighter without all the aftermarket aluminum. I used to load my trucks up but now I’m only going to do the chassis and the braces. I’m still waiting to test run my V4 Talion with the M2C. I’m waiting on some shock shafts. How are u not constantly breaking sungears and pins in ur diffs i do 10 foot high jumps and they break i stiffened up my shock springs and seems to help but the stock arrma pins are weak

Awesome bash! What’s the benefit of running heavier weight diff oil in the rear versus the front? Also will running the 15T pinion my V5 came with be okay for bashing? Or stick with the stock 12T? Also what punch setting are you running? Thanks!

Thicker center and front will basically help stop from bleeding power to the front. Better air control too. 15 tooth is fine just watch temps!

Awesome bro. Always going in beast mode. You have one of the top channels for sure. I have a quick question for you. On the front of the front diff case there is this nipple like thing that sticks out and goes into the center hole of that red metal piece that goes behind the front bumper. I keep breaking that piece off when I do big jumps causing my front suspension to be loose in that area and I don't know what's going on or why it keeps breaking. I put on a hot racing aluminum diff case and now my suspension is loose again I'm going to take it apart and see if it broke again or if it just slipped off. If you could help me out and shed some light on what you think that is please do I would greatly appreciate it. Let me know if that ever happens to you. I thought getting the aluminum hot Racing 1 would create a stronger nipple piece and it wouldn't break off as easy.

Yeah I got it figured out I just need to put those screws in there am I handling and everything should be just fine. Someone on their told me that I should take out the small bumper behind my RPM bumper. What do you think on that subject

I would leave it in as long as it doesn't interfere with the RPM bumper. I run T-bones and always keep it on. Extra protection and helps keep the hinge pins in.

Depends on what I'm going for and terrain. For overall hard bashing and speed, the Kraton.💪If I'm feeling more stunts, flips etc. I go with the Outcast but imho I like the overall experience of the Kraton better!😎👊

Do your motor temps get hot? I tried running a 14t on my kraton V4 and it started cogging and over heating. Yet I see people with 16t or higher on the pinion no issues

I thought v4 was shimmed already , i dont think regular bashing even big jumps would strip your diffs just pushing her to the limits im still on stock oil and diffs in my v3 but im getting ready do them just i stripped grub screw on axle i dread drilling out ruining axle just to change pillar ball hubs do you stick stock plactic hubs or do you like hot racing i liked hr bc larger bearing but going send it not sure makes sence uk what i mean sometimes plastic having flex is better

Yeah you're right the V4'S are shimmed internally but the Outer shim for ring/Pinion mesh needs one extra shim. Especially once broken in. I've had no issues in my other rigs in ages with diffs since then. Its a Duperbash trick!😁I prefer the stock hubs. They seem pretty tough and keep the truck light as possible. I've never had HR hubs so I cant honestly give an opinion on them.👊
