After leaving Juneau, and spending an evening under the stars on the ferry Malaspina, I continue traveling south through Alaska's Inside Passage. First stop, Ketchikan, and then onward to explore the vast, unspoiled wilderness of Prince of Wales Island.

I have been following you for a few months now and here are the reasons I choose to: 1. no over the top music lead in with sponsorship plugs 2. Good clean footage with on topic (to overlanding) content 3. HONESTY. This should be number 1. I love the fact you are honest about your living on the road and with all the adventures and misadventures you experience. So many channels are about the click bait and sponsors and after awhile they lose the actual reason to be out on the road...living the life you have chosen is a gift in which I think YOU seem to understand and appreciate. THANK YOU for providing us with a weekly window into a life we dream about but for one reason or another both good or bad can't make the leap ourselves. Be safe and enjoy your world!

Could not agree more. Especially the music. Everyone has different taste but so many just use stuff that makes no sense. My favorite stupid music score was one guy's video With AC/DC's if you want blood over scenes of idling through creeks and forest two tracks with trucks driving 3MPH. It's idiotic. The honesty is great too. There are times in my travels where I am just not feeling a place and it's refreshing to hear that from others.

Beautiful Chris. The amount of work you put in to setting up shots of gorgeous terrain, especially the sections where the Jeep rounds a bend or passes by the camera are striking. I'm grateful to see this beautiful land through your eyes. Please stay safe. Not that you should ever mention it, but I hope you carry for protection while you're out there alone.

Wow Chris! I´ve been binging your videos for a couple of months now and yours is now my favourite channel. Don´t ever change the format and don´t ever believe that you need to do so to get more viewers. You are true and honest and i love the simplicity! I believe others do to. If i could wish for something though it would be to know a little more about your long and short term plans. This would make me feel even more involved. Keep doing what you want to do!

Gathered some of the kids around to watch this episode. They all want to go to Alaska now! Thanks for taking the time to painstakingly film your adventures Chris. I know how difficult it is to see something amazing, stop, get out, set up a camera, and then go back and re-create the moment. It’s a lot of work and when put together with great editing, truly makes for some fantastic entertainment. Thanks for always being willing to drive places three times or more to get that shot!

Thank you for another great adventure video. I am quitting my job too, to take a break from my routine, monotonous, and unfulfilling life. We are leaving California to start a new life in Nevada, in the desert where we belong, my girlfriend and I. I truly enjoy your videos and your narration as well as your easy going manner. I totally get what you were saying about the empty and hollow feeling at the end of each day and that is why we are hanging it up, at least for a while, to live the life of freedom. Thank you, again.

Awesome work. Loved it! I was on Prince of Wales four years ago, I paddled around many parts of it and found it absolutely pristine. The people I crossed paths with were just unbelievable, friendly straight out of the gate and open arms. I really enjoyed Naukati Bay, Hydaburg, and Klawock. I went there in hopes of paddling with the humpback whale migration, but alas they were still a bit to the west at sea. Can't wait to get back. Your work is splendid, honest and humble. Keep up the great work, and if you're in Michigan I'll show you around! ~Jamie

Awesome. Your videos make me forget about everyday life and make me feel at least for the length of the video that im rt there with you in this journey. For this I thank you. Your sincerity is a breath of fresh air. That squeak is probably some debris caught between your pad and rotor at least sounds brake related. Maybe a warped rotor. Anyway hope the noise is nothing major. Take care and thanks for sharing these wonderful adventures.

I know by the time you read this its probably fixed. Squeaky brakes usually happen when on brakes or goes away when on brakes. Sounds to me like you have a hub bearing. You will eventually feel that in steering wheel as the hub fails. No that is not safe. I hope this may help you. Really enjoy the videos. Keep it up.

Yah, when one is exploring the back roads like he does, it would be prudent to carry at least one 5 gallon gas can as backup.

I thought the same thing, but he seems to be managing his gas fine. Even if you add 5 gallons, it still has to be managed. I do see the point of an emergency reserve though, and it would have allowed 75 miles of further exploration.
@SimonElenor
@SimonElenor 6 жыл бұрын
My point being when you don't know the area you are in and you cutting it close as just enough gas to get back. You are pushing the envelope a little much. What happens if you come across a wash out or a tree that is too big to remove. Never cut it that close.

Hi Chris: Your squeaky front wheel might just be worn brake pads. The pads have audible wear indicators, which make an audible squeak when the pads are very worn. If the squeak goes away when you apply the brakes, and comes back when your foot is off the brake pedal, this is probably your problem. Love your videos!
