Awww man. I wish I was there and able to help with this. I know your frustration. I'm not sure what other people expect, but I look forward to 3-4 videos on the V8 ski per year. WIth a project this large, and with everything else you have going on, I'm just happy to see it at all. I love the evolution of this project and can't wait to see what happens next.

Ur gonna need to dry sump it or make some crazy custom baffles. You will constantly starve the oil pump for oil. Happened to me a lot when circuit racing LS engines. I’ve had the same issue with a 5L build. Also cooling is a big thing just from the way the coolant flow is on these engines. I switched mine to reverse flow so Coolant enters the heads and flows towards the block. Much better for consistent power when heat soaking
@N4CR2 ай бұрын
Dry sump is the only way to be sure for extended service intervals or if its welling up in the head. You need that extra capacity, scavenging and lines from the head...

Ok so I have lots of info for you on your engines. Depending on which 6.0 you had it was likely 9 to 1 compression. The lm7 is an iron block 5.3 that is 9.5 to 1. The aluminum 5.3 is an l33 and is 10.5 to 1 compression and almost 200lbs lighter than the iron block ls variants. So if you went from a 6.0 lq4 to a 5.3 l33 it's possible that the added compression along with being lighter would be faster than the low comp 6.0 iron block. LS engines have to get pretty bad to lose much HP from wear. These are all gen 3 LS variants. The gen 4 stuff would take more time to explain

Also hit me up if you have any questions. I build these engines all the time for work, and would love to help. Also I'd love to help yall figure out your gearbox issues mostly because I want to build one of my own. Don't get discouraged. This thing is super cool, and the only reason I found your channel

Seems like the limitations will be in the drive line since that motor pushes so much power. As before you were shredding the impellor blades and housings. Keep up the good work, eager to see where this can lead.

You should l9ok into mercruiser engines or at least their manifolds which are water cooled you need to keep up the hard work but definitely look into them and see what boats use for cooling plus mercruiser uses alot of gm engines. Hope tjis helps you guys on this awesome journey.

The problem with a berk style mixed flow pump, is the bowl. The only way I can see you getting around it, is doing some major hull work to the bottom by setting the pump back like we do on our jetboats. I mean, just by imagining it, the hand hole for the clean out would be behind the swim deck. A LOT would change regarding CG and moment of thrust. Southern jet is likely your best option. For about half the price of a Hamilton, and being produced on this continent, with more standard features, and higher HP limits, it would be the only axial flow jet I would consider. . You need to take a string, from the back of the crank, and pull it as far into the back of the hull as you can. That is your best case scenario for a standard jet pumps driveshaft. Usually, the oil pan of any jetboat, is almost scraping the top of the pump adapter. I would love to work on this idea. . There are others that have v8 swapped before you, but yours is the most successful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqKQlKWIo5uHja8 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pH3Lk4yLq9loa7c

You should get a Steve Morris engine SML or SMX twin turbo made for a jet ski because boat engines are different from car and truck engines because boat engines are under constant load and car and truck engines are not so some of the internal parts are way different, at least do some research on it it will help you in the long run 😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Try keeping an IR video camera/thermometer with you to check gearbox and other system components. Is the alternator/magneto able to keep up with all the electronics (CPU, coils, pumps...)? I respect your patience sir!
@JetSkiBrothers16 күн бұрын
That's a great idea! I'm always learning new things. I'll have to keep that in mind when we get this thing back on the water. Thanks for the advice! It has a boat alternator on it and should provide plenty of power for the electric components on this thing

V8 Ski! Looks way cool and floats good too! NO marine exhaust, No Windage tray, No oil cooler, Cooling system not pressurized correctly, Too lean of tune, too high of RPM for V8 for extended time, Improper bearing clearances for High RPM, NOT sufficiently crank shaft torque loaded... Even if it doesn't work, it will sometime in the future, I'll buy one! Let me know when ya get the water outta the OIL and fix the blown head gasket...
