@getoutwithrockandsherri nice! I'm looking forward to the video. I wish I had more time for camping but my life is very complicated so I can escape only for a few hours. Fortunately, around the place where I live, there are plenty of different trails, so I don't waste time getting to the trails. I wish you guys a great time!

throwing Rocks into the creek for traction - Love it ! But this is first time I've seen a Hyundai off road - the driver is fearless🤠 - we're in Texas now: Big Bend NP wheeling and hiking - but NO mud

Of course the driver is fearless because he also has an XJ. 😉 This time he took Hyundai. I wish you a great time in Texas.

Great video per usual! I have a similar lift and tire setup on my XJ…..but with front and rear Spartan lockers. With lockers, you could walk through the creek at 1:31. I’m sure they are on your “list”, but I cannot recommend them highly enough. The ONLY thing that stops my XJ after adding lockers is the low differential clearance from 31s. Keep up the great work!
@V8AmericanMuscleCar Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! Dana 30 and 35? Detroit Truetracs are on my list. I'm on the road a lot and I'm not gentle with right pedal so... 😁 Also last year I broke front drivers axle shaft so I want to be sure as I can be. 😁
@MapMan44 Жыл бұрын
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar Chrysler 8.25 and Dana 30 actually….. Great choice going with the TruTracs. Mine is not a daily and just a trail vehicle, so I went with the (more cost effective) Spartans. The good thing about lockers is that you no longer need to be heavy on the pedal like you do with open differentials. I idle over/through everything at 1500 RPM. No drama whatsoever. Can’t wait to watch your before and after videos!
@V8AmericanMuscleCar Жыл бұрын
@MapMan44 Thanks, I appreciate it. The mud is mostly a problem here, so I often have to squeeze the gas to the floor. I also did that when I broke the axle shaft. I kept full throttle on the uphill and caught a rock with one wheel and that was it. Also, it happened at the worst moment, on a steep slope, so I couldn't even get out of the Jeep until they strap me up. LOL

Such a cool video. Would had love to be there also with my 2.5. Praxis question, high or low on that muddy situations.
@V8AmericanMuscleCar Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It would be cool if you were there with us. We had been on that trail before, but after a year and a half, the water brought a lot of sand and mud to this part. I entered that mud in low gears (first gear) and that was too slow for this. Then I put it in 4H because I saw that I needed more wheel spin.

It's funny how a couple rocks gave just enough traction
@V8AmericanMuscleCar11 ай бұрын
It seemed to me that it was missing a bit, so I asked my friend which wheel was spinning when the Jeep stopped. A few rocks and that was it. 😃

Bok!
