I had a C&P exam last week. Had to hire a friend of mine from Church to drive me that far, 1 1/2 hours, to the exam. I have 5 service connected disabilities, and have had 4 major open operations on my right knee in the last 5-6 years. Three were total knee replacements on the SAME right knee in the last 1 1/2 years. Bad infection deep inside the knee, was afraid I was going to lose my leg. Knee will never be normal again and hoping for the 60% rating plus now have to wear a full leg brace for weakness and pain. Hoping for the best. Great video, thanks.

So, I had a knee injury in 1976 service connected. I have an x-ray that shows a fracture. 11 years ago VA doctors told me I needed joint replacement but now I need much more than just joint replacement. I started applying for this disability a several years ago and of course, magically all of those records had disappeared out of my records. In 1976 I was told to wear an elastic bandage and told to only take it off to take a shower given a pair of used crutches which I was told to use completely for 5 weeks, and that they told me if I did not return I would have to pay for them $75. I did have x-rays in 1976. I don't know how they justified my x-rays when these records were pulled from my records. Again, I do have an x-ray that shows a fracture. So how do I prove that this injury occurred when they pulled all of the records out of my file in 1976? I do hope that you still respond to this site? And one last thing, I am female (another strike against me according to the VA). Thank you.

I recently filed for an increase with additional medical evidence from 2001,2002,2003, 2006,200-11 and 2014 including records from the Va hospital stating I have degenerative joint disease in my knee and record of my knee giving out when it feels like it usually causing me to take a fall. They are saying it's service connected, but are not seeing where your range of motion has deteriated. Look at 38CFR for what they grade during a DBQ for knees. You are showing the normal range of motion, which would be rated at zero.

My right knee actually bothers me a lot more than my left knee and both the knee and ankle pop and grind constantly. My right knee often gives out on me while walking down stairs. Sometimes I get this feeling like my right ankle is locked in place and that is really painful. Would the right knee and ankle be possible secondary issues to the right knee due to altered gait or something?
