Man that final race between Bigfoot and Awesome Kong at 42:16 is to this day the most exciting Monster Truck race I've ever seen. They may fly higher and be faster than ever these days, but the 1980's truly was the golden age of Monster Trucks. Announcers were cheesy as hell though lol.
@bustyrandit4 жыл бұрын
I got to see a rematch in 1987 at Nashville Motor Speedway, only difference, BIGFOOT 6 had just debuted and won the race jumping the cars. This happened just as BF 6 got to be known for jumping. It was my 1st Monster Truck event, I ll never forget it.

Helluva race format. This was before safety was invented. They have guys walk in from the side to unhook the sleds, and hopefully the driver doesn't gun it and snatch the chain and maul the worker. Ahh the good old days of real monster truck racing. Jim Kramer driving Bigfoot while wearing a baseball hat and hanging out the window to see where he's going. Trucks with steel bodies, run what ya brung races. Blown V8's, a screamin Detroit Diesel, an Allison V12 fighter plane engine. Those were definitely the glory days to be a monster truck fan.

Fun Fact: Steve Evans actually appeared in an episode of Rescue 911 that aired in november 1989 as part of a segment on the near fatal crash of an NHRA funny car racer named Don Gay Jr at the Mile High Nationals in Denver that past summer. Don "The Snake" Prudhome (who gay jr was racing that day) also appeared in partial voiceover in the story. It's really strange watching him speak in his normal voice sounding morose (you can tell he was traumatized by it) while describing what happened that day at the beginning of the segment. The segment is called: Rescue 911: Funny Car if you're interested in seeing it.

You put one of those tubular frame trucks in the water, it’ll probably sink
@RobbieWilliamsandJakobWilliams6 жыл бұрын
Any monster truck with planetary gears is going to sink the wheels don't spin fast enough and a lighter truck would float better with all the air in the tires. The tire size is 66x43x25 that's allot of air in a tire at 30 psi.
