We Found a £10,000,000 ABANDONDED Mansion Left to Decay

This was where my parents got married in the 90s! When it closed in the mid 00s, the golf course remained open, and as such a minimum level of repairs was probably maintained. In the early 2010s they tried reopening purely as a wedding venue (hence the gold room and the glittery wallpapers), but they did so without the necessary paperwork /permissions, and was quickly closed. It kinda fell off the map since then - I'd assumed it'd be converted to housing lie everything else nearby, but obviously not. What a sad end to a once truly classy building.

We have a hotel around a mile from me, it closed I think late 70s/early 80s and lay empty since to a point it’s just 4 walls with a pile of rubble in the middle where even the roof has fallen in It’s a shame as it was a popular one in its day There was another in the next town where it went bust and the young crew set it alight earlier this year, in this day and age an insurance claim no doubt

My heart was in my mouth when you climbed up that tower , you have a steel stomach to go up . The house / manor , even though it was trashed was so beautiful . The woodwork and carvings were classic and should be preserved before vandals burn it down . Edd in all his glory had me in stiches with some of the crazy stunts that he pulls . A huge thank you for the time and effort you put into producing this classic , not forgetting Ned who is your anchor in each video . God Bless you all and all your followers , Stuart in Canada..

In 1979 the house was converted into a hotel and conference centre with a separate golf club occupying the parkland.[1] The hotel closed its doors In 2006. In 2010 it reopened as a wedding venue but this did not have planning permission and was immediately closed down. As of November 2019 the house remains closed to the public but the golf course is still in place

That old place was once very nice indeed. Like everything, if you don't care for it, you louse it to the ravages of time. Mother nature will always take back what you leave. That tree house at the end needed an elevator for access. Thank you, Alex, Ned, and Ed, great explore!

Hi Guys, the only way into the bell tower is from the main house out the window across the roof onto the coach house roof. I was in there in 1999 repairing it . I was the maintenance man there in 90s the was a really grand place like the brochure you found. the big problem was main sewer pipe was too small 4" always getting blocked. so sad to see it in that condition ps the TV program Catweazle was made there. GREAT CHANNEL MATE. .

Another great explore. I think there were more rooms underground than above. I am trying to get my head around the very first steps to building a property like this. The excavation for the cellars must have been immense. I think maybe in the very beginnings of the estate the top hierarchy of servants would have the best of those rooms in the basement and the lower servants would have had the not so great rooms down there. I love seeing nature growing indoors. Real natural decay.

Rewatched this. Truly sunning place, tho all the pink I would find too much - it was overwhelming lol. Amazing countryside surrounding the mansion. Can just imagine it in its heyday. The decay is rescuable at this stage with effort so I do hope it will be done in the very near future. Even if it is turned into either apartments or offices. Worked here for 15 years, amazing place , was a thriving wedding venue and the stupid owners closed it ! Just needed a bit of money spent on her , now it’s no going back, as it’s listed will be a nightmare to restore
