Portsmouth history | WW2 fuel bunker

Weve mapped out some locations to explore Portsdown hill in detail. On the hunt for old fuel depot's and hidden bunkers, today we found a TOP SECRET BUNKER FINALLY!!!

Phenomenal structure. To dig it is one thing but also to line it and have steps. Amazing. Terrible environmental disaster at the bottom though. I am confused as to all the oil at the top of the stairs. Was there another leak somewhere else? There must have been a lift/pulley system as if seems impossible to have been able to get all that equipment down there via the stairs.

At the bottom of that slide. You go right and it leads into the tunnels next to the storage tanks.. you'll be on the inside of those sealed doors you went to on the outside. Its a bit of a obstacle course doe.. secret vault went in there.

@@marcelkukaba4867 ah sorry unfortunately the entrance we got in and those stairs have now been flattened and filled with concrete, but it's right next to fort Southwick, to the west, not hard to find on Google earth
