I was actually looking for a different Alex Melton’s KZbin channel. This Alex, however, is white. Still, he’s good. I am having mixed emotions about this song done like this. It seems like there’s “distinct” Blink phases, and he didn’t really stick to any particular one. If he did “slow motion” by 3Eb, in the style of the album with the happy face on it, that would be pretty sick. Or if he did “paralyzer” by finger eleven in the style of Wolfmother or The Darkness, that would be impressive. Or “Mother” by Danzig as though he were Justin Timberlake circa 2002. Lol j/k.

363 people don’t realize how much RAW TALENT it takes to become proficient at one instrument, let alone 4. Your vocal range and tone alone are hella impressive man; and the fact you were emulate Blink! 182 without going over the top is a feat in and of itself. Tom’s voice is so unique and you really did the style justice.

Yall don't understand. I was *obsessed* with 3EB when I was 12 in 1998, and *obsessed* with Blink when I was 15 in 2001. I am so confused and amazed and don't know how to feel about this! 😂😂

What a fantastically random and heart warming thing to become good at. And you, Sir, are quite good at what you do (playing multiple instruments, mixing that late 90s sound). Hats off. It's a weird project but you're fucking nailing it.

This is *incredible* as much as I liked this song before (being middle school or junior high kid when this song originally came out and now being in my mid-30’s; college educated/married/kids/etc...) & now revisiting a lot of the music from those days while I’m working out & stuff...I can honestly say this fucking *NAILS IT* it sounds like Blink-182 covering semi-charmed life... 10 outta 5 stars, way 2 go!!

As career/husband/dad in his mid-30’s where Semi-charmed came out the summer between middle and high school, this is the most relatable comment here.

Look, the word Genius ........it gets thrown around a lot. Way to easily. Having said that; this man is an actual genius. To pull of what he is doing with these covers successfully.......it takes the following 4 things. 1) An understanding of music that transcends genres and gets to the core of musical theory itself. 2) Raw talent, half of which leaves room for creativity, the other half which has been refined and is tuned into the genre being pulled off. 3) A deep understanding of the bands being covered. 4) Genius. Well done man. You got a new subscriber here. I also went and looked you up on Spotify. I'm glad to be a new fan.

I'm packed and I'm holding, I'm smiling She's living, she's golden, she lives for me Says she lives for me Ovation, she's got her own motivation She comes 'round and she goes down on me And I make her smile like a drug for you Do ever what you want to do, coming over you Keep on smiling what we go through One stop to the rhythm that divides you And I speak to you like the chorus to the verse Chop another line like a coda with a curse Come on like a freak show, takes the stage We give them the games we play, she say I want something else To get me through this Semi-charmed kind of life, baby, baby I want something else I'm not listening when you say Goodbye The sky was gold, it was rose I was taking sips up into my nose And I wish I could get back there, some place back there Smiling in the pictures you would take Doing crystal meth will lift you up until you break It won't stop, I won't come down I keep stock with a tick-tock rhythm, a bump for the drop And then I bumped up, I took the hit that I was given Then I bumped again, then I bumped again, I said How do I get back To the place where I fell asleep inside you? How do I get myself back to The place where you said... I want something else To get me through this Semi-charmed kind of life, baby, baby I want something else I'm not listening when you say Goodbye I believe in the sand beneath my toes The beach gives a feeling, an earthy feeling I believe in the faith that grows And the four right chords can make me cry When I'm with you I feel like I could die And that would be alright, alright And when the plane came in, she said she was crashing The velvet it rips in the city We tripped on the urge to feel alive But now I'm struggling to survive Those days you were wearing that velvet dress You're the priestess, I must confess Those little red panties, they pass the test So slide up 'round the belly face down on the mattress one And you hold me And we're broken Still it's all that I want to do, just a little now Feel myself hovering off the ground I'm scared, I'm not coming down No, no And I won't run for my life She's got her jaws now locked down in a smile But nothing is alright, alright And I want something else To get me through this life, baby I want something else Not listening when you say Goodbye, goodbye Goodbye, goodbye The sky was gold, it was rose I was taking sips up into my nose And I wish I could get back there, some place back there In the place we used to start our lives (I want something else)
