Lovely watch. The 1921 line are my favorite by VC. I think the dial here would of looked even better with blued hands and numerals (like the 40mm platinum limited edition from a few years back) instead of black. I really like that graduated burgundy strap too. One of the nicest straps I’ve seen. And I usually couldn’t care less about such things.

I own this exact watch. One issue is that the strap is extremely short, its woman length. It fits on my wrist on the last hole, leaving no additional strap length, and my wrist is quite standard for a man (it is even smaller than average). I tried to get a longer version at the VC boutique, but unfortunately they don’t make this exact burgundy version on order. So now they ordered a simple brown VC strap for me. Kind of disappointing… The burgundy strap is one of the highlights of this watch. For sone reason they see this as a lady watch but it’s actually a perfect size for a man. It wears like a 39mm / 40mm watch.

I wonder why they didn't also rotate the printing on the subdial. This just looks... wrong.

I’ve asked multiple people at vacheron this and never got a straight answer. I truly think it was a mistake and they just stuck with it.

Beautiful! I think either a powder blue parchment dial or a light salmon dial, either of which coupled with blued steel dial hardware and printing would be how I’d configure it.
