It is comparatively easy to grow saffron under controlled environmental conditions in any part of the world by proper selection of corms which are of specific size and season in which corms are collected, properly stored till planting. The most challenging job is to grow these corms further for multiplication of corms under soil and make them to produce floral primordia in these newly developed corms. Every time if corms are to be brought from Kashmir then the project cost will be too high to sustain.
