Exactly, this applies to everything. There are no shortcuts, and there needs to be a lot of effort in order to succeed. After I realised that UI is not enough for me, I tried to find everything I could about the proper UX process, grasp it and now I am applying it to my own first project. It requires a lot more effort and patience, but it just feels amazing making decisions having real information about my users.

This video is gold. It's a call to find your own space and be the god of that space. Develop solid work in that space. I've always been interested in systems, automation, cloud, infrastructure, and nature. I'm currently looking for how they meld. I feel there's something in there for me.

Hi Vy, I recently got your book, and I'm already on page 71. I've been passionate towards Supply chain and XR since 2019. Currently studying e-commerce and supply chain at a university while learning UX Design on the side. I'm working with a friend on building a solution for his logistic startup. Can't wait to apply everything in the book.

This is my very first time watching your videos! I'm a career switcher from engineering into UX design, and while I love Figma, I can clearly see how the bulk of innovation and development in the 2D space is becoming the new normal / saturated, and also the value potential of AR/VR technologies is unquestionable - there is some potential there for sure. Your video was insightful (I see that Miro file!). However, one thing I would add is at the end of the day we're all trying to make it. Being competent is important, but just as valuable is being able to lead (professionally and in your personal community). In other words, it's good to be able to push your self and have the "proof in your pudding" (i.e. proof in your results), but I think the more valuable advice you have is to choose yourself first. That may not mean pushing yourself to be better than everyone else for you! That may mean taking a break professionally to find yourself through travel or anything else. So literally choose yourself first and do what's best for you, in your gut and intuition. Have the courage and trust to follow it. Because when you do that you ARE choosing your self! And when you choose yourself you can better empathize better with others, and in turn you can learn to better lead. That may be outside the intended scope of this video, but thought this was important! It's my opinion and comment contribution. Thank you for the video, subscribing 🤘🏼

Great video! It's funny you mentioned VR because I recently enrolled into a VR elective at uni for the reasons you stated in your video. It's reassuring to hear that my thinking was in the right direction!

Waste of money and time get out of that class. You can learn that shit for free. Who needs a class On vr? Vr has failed so many and been reinvented so many times .. until it becomes better than wearing a headset then it won't take off. Even if fb says it will, don't think this will be the case.

@@randomherosvid we all have a different way of learning. To some, learning with tons of free sources isn't efficient. So if a person can have other methods of learning, then cool. It is not a waste of money. It isn't necessarily a waste of money even if you enter only to find you can do better outside an uni.

Put in the work is the message I am getting from this video. Especially, it seems like having good programming skills come in handy. Fine by me. Gotta get cracking!

I think the best way to do this is to actually get yourself hired by a company that works in those technologies and learn them this way. Altho almost always that means the barrier for entry may be higher than "typical" jobs.

Great vid! Just getting into VR ux for work and I can definitely agree with taking the time to actually learn the product. I was stuck in a rut until I actually got my hands on a VR headset and now everything makes much more sense. What design software are you using to design for VR? I’ve been mostly using Figma but I feel like Unity might be worth learning. Cheers!

Question is, as a junior product designer or someone who does not have access to the data, how can you really practice making data driven design decisions?
@vaexperience
@vaexperience 2 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't aim to make data driven decisions. Data informed is the goal. Also depending on the context you can always capture enough underlying quant data via stats, analytics, previous secondary research etc. Then overlaying that with qualitative research insights can make much more informed design decisions.

You don't need a specific course. UX is UX and can be applied to any problem. As long as the fundamental steps of UXR are covered the rest is easy

Hi Vytautas, first of all thank you for all the information you share with us. This is more useful to me than the bootcamp I am currently following. I have a question about Emerging Tech. I want to delve into AR because I find it interesting and I want to include it in my portfolio. I'm thinking about developing a fictitious app for a school that can display an entered route, from room A to B, so to speak. The problem I run into during the research phase is that there are relatively few existing apps that do this and I can research. The apps that are available are used abroad, at an airport and metro station (I live in the Netherlands myself). How do I conduct good research? Can I use other people's reports for my research? A more concrete question: How do you conduct good research in newer fields?

This new year, I have been looking for a niche to specialize in. I currently have experience working in the FinTech and E-commerce products. But since my last role, I have been finding it hard getting a job for over a year. I want to dive fully into AI and Data Analytics. But even in this field the variety of products you can work on is large which still drives me away from being specialized. Nowadys everyone is a blockchain and a web3 designer and the competition there is really big. I honestly need an advice on niches I can switch into
@vaexperience

Just pick one and immerse yourself into it. If after some time you realise thst it doesn't stick then you can switch to something - its not a life or death decision. If you want my two cents: pick a thing you want to do in the upcoming couple of years, and don't let any second thoughts or doubts stop you.
