These are the conditions I (a Colorado resident) live for. Excellent powder, but not so deep you get lost in it. Every mogul becomes the softest little dream run, with no jaw-breaking jolts or knee-knockers. Unfortunately, timing one's trip for such conditions can be tricky, even driving up from Denver. But how memorable powder days are. The only thing that could have made your day better was being on the tail end of that snowstorm -- when the blue skies came back.

12" LOL! You need 19'" to really enjoy the day. 24" for the best and deepest on the back bowls, back when I lived there. 3' over in Beaver creek for the record that season after three days of non stop snow. Just saying a foot of snow is just a nice powder day not a great one.

I've been to both Vail and BC on +2'-3' storm days. Yes it is nice, but without massive floaters its not easy to ski haha
