Can we talk for a minute to appreciate the animation in this episode? Ik that SpongeBob in the newer seasons is more wackier than others, but the land surface was pretty good. A few scenes you can see them use the land props, but you would barely notice. And they went a daring step to have the animated characters interact with real-life objects and vice versa like how the dog went to licking in the vehicle. That is very hard for animation standards. 10/10 episode, it was nice to celebrate Steve Hillenburg's little creation for 20 years on air

Eggs Benedict Cucumber Batch Yeah a lot of people say that. But honestly I quite admire it. It’s quite creative and takes more effort to produce than season 5-9 episodes. Some animators from Ren and Stimpy are behind the show now I think.

I wish we could’ve seen Mermaidman and Barnacleboy. I know their actors have sadly passed away, but they could give them a few lines with sound bytes from older episodes. It’s sad that they literally haven’t spoken since Ernest Borgnine‘s passing.

It was pretty amazing for a Modern Spongebob episode,I really loved on how Patchy finally got what he wanted...Meeting the Sponge and not to mention the voice actors really nailed their seaside characters. But the best part? The ending...Where the show said Thank you to Steve Hillenburg.

I love the references to past classic episodes of the show like Sailor Mouth, Spongebob's big house party , krusty krab training video and naughty nautical neighbors. The jokes were well written and some of the animation and shots kinda look similar to the pre movie seasons! Overall it was a pretty good episode. A lot of its potential was hampered for a few lousy and overly long surface world gags, was the bean party really necessary? Fortunately it didn't ruin the entire episode and most of the specials best qualities were strongly prominent with Spongebob's glory intact.The ending was really heart warming and Spongebob finally got to meet Patchy!
