Vainglory IF exists | Re: Zero Explained

Everyone knows about the different IF routes, Wrath IF, Sloth IF, Gluttony IF, Lust IF, Greed IF and Pride IF. What about vanagloria, also known as vainglory or vanity IF? Well, it does exist but it is called something else: School IF or Re: Zero academy. In this video i explain the mystery around it.

Vainglory represents believing in superiority and that you've already won a battle/war. Maybe School:if/Vainglory:if is a delusion of Subaru, in an alternate world where Subaru is driven so insane that he just recreates his world in his head as a way of claiming he has won everything? Just read chapter 2 and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's a breath of fresh air to see them all having happy lives after the rollercoaster arc 5 has been. If you're wandering how I read it, I used DeepL, my almost nonexistent japanese knowledge, and a bit of imagination in 1 or 2 scenes

It would be nice if one day he does anti-sin IF routes, the virtue IF routes of Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Forgiveness, Kindness, and Humility. Although I think the 7 virtues will come into play in the Envy route anyways. I think there's a good chance the Witch Factors are actually neutral powers that can be used for good and for evil. Maybe there's a lean towards evil because maybe it's more powerful or more easy to use for evil, similar to the Force in Star Wars. Look for example at Subaru's usage of Cor Leonis. I would definitely consider that a complete inversion of how Regulus used the power, in that he is giving his body to his friends as a vessel for their suffering. That is a complete inversion of Regulus's power. Also I think it's not an accident that Invisible Providence comes out his front as opposed to Petelgeuse's back. Also he uses the Authority of Envy in a way inverse to the idea of envy (envy definition: a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck). He is not consumed by jealousy for other people's abilities, and will do whatever he can with his own power to save people. Maybe it's just Subaru but I think these Witch Factors have a dual nature in their utility.

The 7 virtues are already in play in the Envy route, at each moment where one of the sin ifs branch off, in the main story that is when Subaru chose the opposing virtue instead of the sin that leads down that route.

hmmm... so... Isekai Quartet? :) But seriously, it does make sense why Subaru if he could would create a school environment especially if the point of divergence happened before the witches' trials. His middle school was when he felt most accomplished before he started being overshadowed in his highschool to the point where he felt like a failure and couldn't bring himself to attend school anymore. I suppose if he could rewrite reality like Pandora could, it follows that he would rewrite it such that he isn't such a goof ball in school and is still well respected.
