Valco 13' Aluminum boat with 8hp Suzuki

Hey guys here is a video of my new(to me) 13' Valco 1966 aluminum boat with my 8hp Suzuki outboard motor. In the boat was me and my lovely girlfriend. Total weight with the two of us, the outboard, a battery, 3gal fuel tank, etc. Was around 550 pounds. Boat clocked in at 9mph steady. Full throttle is at around 1 minute.

Nice I have a 12 foot and added remote steering to a 15hp Johnson. I get up to 25 mph on the lake.. I added some jb weld to the seams as it was leaking a bit. Ever since then not a drop of water. Awesome boat. Check out my channel.

Man, that's what I want but a solid hull without rivets. The 12 foot is a bit smaller than Id like. I need to figure out how to get my own boat made. Thicker aluminum and heavy transom to hold a 30 or 40 with stick steer at the front center

john cuervo that sounds expensive!! Just get a jet ski and mod it as a fishing rig. Cheaper and can fish more shallow areas..

That 8 hp doesn’t seem as fast as the 8hp johnson

Chris Ford Yeah this motor had the 2 stroke oil injection system and so it was pretty heavy for its size as well. I’ve got another video with my 9.9 2 stroke Yamaha and that thing was significantly more powerful. Never had any issues with this little Suzuki though.
