Valda Wilson & Lawrence Zazzo - "Vieni, appaga il tuo consorte" ORFEO ED EURIDICE (Gluck) 2022

The Australian soprano, Valda Wilson, initially trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before winning Opera Foundation Australia’s scholarship to the National Opera Studio London. In the past five European seasons, Valda debuted as Violetta, Elisabeth de Valois, Leonora (Il trovatore), Marschallin, Marguerite, Musetta, Fiordiligi, Contessa di Almaviva, Vitellia, Euridice, Alcina, Sylva Varescu (The Gypsy Princess), Josepha Vogelhuber (Im weissen Rössl), Hanna Glawari and Eliza Doolittle. In the 2022-23 season, Valda will reprise the role of Violetta and debut as Micaëla, Rosalinde and in the title role of the world premiere of Sarah Nemtsov’s Ophelia at the Saarländisches Staatstheater. She is captured here as Euridice in a televised broadcast of Gluck's ORFEO ED EURIDICE in October 2022 with the countertenor Lawrence Zazzo. They perform the duet in Act III - "Vieni, appaga il tuo consorte". Masato Suzuki, conducts the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
