I’d argue that the Hunting Phase is more precisely, a Snake Auction. Action = select/draft and resolve as part of 1 turn Auction = select/draft, then resolve during separate turns

Is there any way to obtain this game in the US? I know it won't be out until April, but I meant via conventions and such.

As you mentioned, Renegade is bringing it to the US in March/April of next year. There's no easy way to get it earlier other than importing it at this point. Another option that might soon be available to everyone is on boardgamearena.com Right now it's in ALPHA on there, but I imagine it might soon be available for the general public.
