Hi Jack. I do think you have kind of talent for images, the different angles you use and the creativity. Most of the images in this video were very beautiful and I liked a lot the accelerated effect of the camera behind your head. No hablo español pero entiendo because my mother tongue is Portuguese and my third language is Italian. Sometimes when I watch foreign movies, the only language option I have is Spanish and I am usually able to manage. After studying 3 languages, in my opinion, if you want to speak, one of the best options is to listen a lot, overcoming that initial "big mess" of sounds that don't mean anything at first, which over time became sentences and then words that finally made sense. I remember I had to take the bus to go to my Italian classes and I always took it listening to Italian music. Also, when I was studying German, I found some soap operas on KZbin that I liked and I saw them over and over again, some parts with subtitles others without. I found some movies too. One that I like a lot is called "All you need is love" (the title is in English, but it is spoken in German) It is a romantic gay comedy. Of course, to start, we need to have at least a minimum notion of how the language works, numbers, days of the week etc. Nowadays we have lots and lots of language learning sources. One interesting may be Netflix because the language options and also the subtitles. KZbin is another (although the subtitles are not always reliable), TV series, songs and so on... Another interesting possibility is finding someone to exchange languages, you teach them the one you know and learn the one they know. I'm sure you will get to learn Spanish.

As a language teacher, I agree with you completely. The only problem living is the "living in a van" part of my life - which means no Netflix and little time/energy to go watch programmes with subtitles etc ... Back into a sedentary life, it would be much easier, indeed. Soon I will be in France - where I can practice my French - as I already know the basics! (I hope)

I just had to stop after the accelerated camera movement combined with the band singing and congratulate you on a wonderful editing and filming of this video. I have been to Valencia 4 times now as a tourist and i am seriously considering moving there from England and your video does justice to the beauty of the city. Congratulations, you have a new subscriber. Half of the video left to see, i'm pressing play again !

I really appreciate that. (stlll learning about editing, copyright etc.) I did fall in love with Valencia. I was supposed to explore the whole of Spain during last winter, but ended up staying there for 4 months. So I might just go back coming winter ;-)

Oh, by the way - there is a guy called Michael Thomas who spoke several languages and that developed his own teaching method. It is a different approach indeed. His classes were (he has died) usually him and two people who did not know the language at first and he would step by step explain the basics and would create sentences. In reality, he taught patterns. The next class he would review and expand the material. I used his material both for Italian and German, and it helped me indeed.

Thanks for the laugh this afternoon. Your video is spot on. We live in this beautiful city and recognize a lot. It’s so funny, my friends and l now speak loudly when we go out. It just happens because you can’t hear others over the noise so you speak even louder. It sucks when l have to record so l try for siesta time.😊Enjoy your travels. You have a unique style that l love.

Great video! I have issues with LOUD People! Is Granada more of a quiet place? I was interested in relocating from the US to Spain, and as I am more a Classical Musician, I am very sensitive to sounds. I have lived in Lisbon before and that city was right at the threshold for me. Your thoughts?

Great information Jack, thanks for sharing. How’s the alternator issue now, did you get it sorted or is the fault still a mystery?

Hola.
