I didn't know that, that's amazing man.. this would be amazing even with a perfectly healthy back.. doing this with a back injury like that just makes it even more amazing. This guy is great, I love his performances.

given, to do any heavy lifting after a broken back is awesome. good for him!

valentin dikul is one of best former gymnast that never say no to life!!!! he felt from 13meters hight and broke he's all body and because he wanted to continue living and work in circus he did everything that takes to reabilitate his body to perfom!!! he even got he's own reabilitation center in moscow which helps people without hope to walk!!!! he extraordinery person
@Monctonite13 жыл бұрын
yes but it is real. THis man holds many world records. He is the only human to "walk" with over 2000 lbs on his shoulders. Remember in World strong man competitions-they walk with 800-900 lbs . He also can "juggle" 90 pound streel balls and holds a no strap raw world record deadlift of 460 kg . His walk out , squat and walk back to rerack 1000 lb squat with "no spotter" has never been duplcated.

He is not holding 1250kg, probably less than 600, maybe even 500 considered the angel of the car. And his 450 squat is bullshit. Circus artists are not powerlifters. they want to look impressive.

There is no way in hell that I'm going to buy into the idea of his 1170kg RAW total, but this stunt may actually not be that unrealistic. Considering the positioning of the car in relation to its pivot point, the weight on his shoulders might be at around 1100 lbs or something. There is more than one person out there who could lock that out for 4 inches or so and then hold it for a few seconds.

@SteveMiller88 Don't you think that he shakes because he is much older then typical lifter, and the weight is slightly bigger then any typical lifter has lifted?
@SteveMiller8814 жыл бұрын
If this were real, wouldn't they need to have taken some kind of safety measures, no matter how strong the man was. Anything could have happened, and the car would have fallen on him causing a gruesome mess. I'd say the car was gutted, it is just a circus after all.

@wowgd9 No, the car deadlifts for Strongmen are typically between 280 and 320kg. He isn't holding the whole weight of the car, but it's definitely more than 300kg.

The car does seem to rest on his shoulders. When he puts it to rest, the suspension is compressed under the weight of the car considerably. I think they have not even removed the engine. I for one am inclined to believe this video.

400 kg means a fully loaded Olympic bar! Way to go, man! In fact, unlike classic weightlifting percentage workouts, Dikul's unique approach was that he used to max out each training session in order to secure a power margin for his stupendous circus shows, so he actually did it with 2000 kilos! Просто Дикуль это настоящий былинный герой и живой Русский Богатырь!!!

Not sure how special of a lift this is. Most professional or amateur strongmen can deadlift or squat a car for many, many reps....so im sure any one of them could hold this easily.

@luciphoenix I know all about Pat(Oly lifter). Who were you referring to in your last comment "there are powerlifters who have done it."
@SteveMiller8813 жыл бұрын
@carcass456 Sure it sounds like a great story, great motivation and inspiration for someone recovering from serious injuries. Dikul was a good showman, that's it. He just isn't as strong as he is portrayed. The big giveaway was his 1170kg, which was done raw. Doing that is unheard of. He shakes way too much during his squat, no 1000lb squatter has a core that weak to shake like that.
@MSimp2k62 жыл бұрын
I agree it's dubious, but shaking isn't always a giveaway. Some extremely strong squatters (Dan Green springs to mind) shake so much they look like they're going to fall over when they unrack the bar, but still manage to squat it. Not everyone looks rock-solid.

@carcass456 So you're telling me the only man to deadlift 1000lbs raw on the planet has a broken back? Doing that would impress more than "schoolboys". It should astonish the world, but do you know why it hasn't? Because he didn't do it, it was all a show. Saying that he holds an unofficial world record is more of an insult to the people who train their asses off everyday.

@SteveMiller88 the main point is not even the fact that he is holding that much weigth. The MAIN point is that he is doing is with BROKEN BACK. He broke his back in 60-ties while was working in circus as flying acrobat and was paralyzed from waist down. purely by strength training and against doctors opinions he trained his spinal muscles to support his body where spinal column cannot. All his stunts and records are not to impress youtube watchers, but to motivate other paralyzed people.

I am grateful for the video. KZbin is perfect for this type of thing. My best friend had been bullied. He stated he was intending to get bigger muscles. I laughed... Right up until without warning he packed on 40 pounds of complete muscle mass. He made use of the Muscle Building Bible (look in Google). He doesn't get bullied any longer. :) I actually subscribed a few days ago. Plus the guys emails are awesome!

an impressive feat here... but deadlifting 460kg (1013lbs) and squat 450kg (991lbs) RAW in his age - no f***** way. Bill Kazmeier, Zydrunas Savickas and Benedikt Magnusson would be a ridiculous joke compared to this guy. It's just not possible that he surpasses or matches the strongest guys ever in history with about 65 years of age... he would win every strongman competition in the world with that squat and deadlift....
@carcass45613 жыл бұрын
@SteveMiller88 his spine is broken, this is the whole point. of course he shakes. He is not your typical healthy PowerLifter. He is the guy who trained himself from paralysis. and consider this: his main achievement is helping paralyzed people to WALK AGAIN. The guy who can do THAT - why would he even consider cheating with weights? to impress some schoolboys ?? check the article on TimesOnline about Dikul.

Isn't it because a bunch of "powerful" corrupt bitches don't want the men who were BORN IN THE USSR and are PROUD of this fact to keep DEFEATING your 'X-people' lol? it's all about propaganda
