I'm already using a fabfilter pro-c on my vocals. I was thinking about using this plugin to compress upwards (just raise the lower parts) and then keeping the other compressor after it, with the ratio lowered. This way I'm bringing up the lows & not compressing the highs as much. I still want to use the fabfilter plugin. I saw a video of someone who did that. Does anyone else do this?

I don't understand how Mv2 high level works if when you bring the slider down the whole vocal gets louder so my question how does that reduce the high level vocals (peaks)

It makes the peaks quieter but to compensate for losing volume it raises the overall volume which is going to make your audio louder overall. It's basically auto make up gain.

No, remember it brings them up to a threshold, not above it. Just like downward compression reduces the levels to a threshold and not below it. Then you bring the consistent sound up to level match. Threshold is key in understanding compression
