I think we all agree the LaLanders are amazing people. But I am also impressed by the people who send gifts and the thoughtfulness that is put into them. The letter and magazines for Phillip about the player pianos is just one example of how the fans see/hear something and send a very personalized gift. This is why so many of us get joy from the community. I feel silly when I talk about LaLande like it is a place I have actually visited or that the people are my friends, but we have come to know each of you (a bit) and you make us feel like we are part of the community. That is the gift you give back to us. There is so much sad, mean and ugly in this world, I try to make a point to search out the good and hopeful. LaLande is the epitome of good and hopeful. I find myself looking forward to each new installment. It makes me happy to see everyone getting along even though they are all so different. I really love when the entire group goes to the thrift shops. I love the glamorous and lovely dresses. It has changed the way I dress now and if I like something outrageous I wear it, live like you were meant to and dress “way out loud “.

I have a pianola handed down to me from my great grandmother. I learnt to play on it as a child. A year ago I had it restored. French polished and all and it sounds wonderful. I have many many old rolls that you can sing along too. They are so much fun to play.

You can make S’mores in the oven in the winter or you can roast the marshmallows in the fireplace. I take the big marshmallows and cut a cross in the top, pull it open, put some chocolate chips or chunks of cut up chocolate and pop them in the oven until golden brown and puffy. I let it cool for a little so the outside forms a crust and then they are sooooo good but very rich so I can only eat two at most. Lots of lovely gifts again, it’s truly amazing what people send from the goodness of their hearts. The tiaras are truly a work of art, I’m blown away she makes them. Wow🥰🙋🏼
