I use nail tips with my dual forms. So quick and easy! And if it seeps out of the dual form just clean up the sides before you cure. Minimal shaping needed after you cure. I love it!

Lol I love dual forms because I makes it so easy to get the nail to look good but I also do much shorter nails than you do which probably makes a big difference

This set turned out beautifully in the end! We all have those days where things just don't go as planned or our application isn't as easy as usual. But you turned it around and made it work. I used dual forms the first few times I tried polygel and they weren't for me either. I have tiny fingers and nail beds and the forms were just too big. I didn't really use them as intended either. I put a very thin layer of polygel in them and never applied all the way to the cuticle. It basically builds a nail tip, and then I did an overlay on top. I will say it helped me with an apex when I was starting out and couldn't get the hang of that. But yeah, once you get the hang of polygel and master building an apex, applying the traditional application style over the top is easy and the nails look so much better in my opinion.

That’s exactly how I use dual forms! I can’t stand the way they look when put on all the way up to the cuticle + you just can’t get a good apex with a dual form. I had to file the sides down on some to get them to fit me right.

@@krystalfukinmarie757 it was just more work than I wanted to deal with LOL! I tried polygel several years ago when there was like one or two brands of it, and there were three colors: natural clear (cloudy/frosted look but definitely not clear), light pink (a slightly pink tint to the natural clear), bright white. There weren't really many tutorials on KZbin other than from the actual company that made it. I gave up after a few times and decided to learn hard gel, which I love. Then suddenly polygel became very popular with tons of different brands and colors and I tried again. For some reason I struggled with getting the polygel smooth and the apex in the right place....it always ended up too far from the middle of the natural nail bed. So the dual form helped me to see exactly where I needed to have it. With gel you just flip your hand over and it flows into place like magic LOL! But just like everything, you just have to practice and keep trying. Eventually I got it. I think dual forms are a great concept and very helpful when starting out, but past that it just takes more time. At least for me. There's so much more content on how to use polygel now than when I first tried it, which is amazing for those starting out!

I laughed so much at you and that thumb nail, you were too funny. This was the first kit I ever bought (it had different gel colors) but I love mixing the gels in with the polygel for different colors. I liked dual forms but I switched to full covers to try and lessen the damage of my natural nail but they were the easiest for me. I think this set is cute and you did a good job.

Butttttt mom 🥺😭 .... but fr tho I kinda don’t blame her bcuz they charge too much for these kits for dinky little tubes of gel you get in them. I wish I had paid attention to that before I got one. So when you can get one look for the kits with the 30ml tubes 💯 and even then you will still want to get a full size (50-60ml) of clear, I only say clear bcuz that’s what I go through the fastest.

Frustrating at times when your ideas don’t exactly turn out how you had hoped lol but still fun + I feel like it’s a great skill to have in your back pocket. People wanting their nails manicured & even painted will never go out of style. Sometimes life just wants to screw you over, shit happens & over the last 20 years there’s been multiple times where something came up & I didn’t have rent money, or something happened where I didn’t have money I needed & so I’d post online "hey I’m not licensed but (whatever’s happening) & I need to make $___ by whatever date. Here’s some pics of some of the work I’ve done. We can negotiate prices" and the dms come rolling in, or posted a flyer with basically the same thing in a gas station or liquor store. It’s definitely come in handy for me.

I struggle, too, with polygel and dual forms, so I use the forms with acrylic because I struggle with sculpting acrylic, and the forms pop off acrylic just as easily. 😊
