Another major checkmark off my list.
Thank you so so much for joining me on this journey. Your support through KZbin and Instagram- gave me a lot of strength and courage.
Thank you,
Valeria

My mother has been always a very confused and confusing person with some dose of narcissism, lot of mental traumas and even though she raised me with values, her negative way of seeing all things, affected me so deeply until today. You are very lucky that your mom is such a balanced person and respects your boundaries. The way she talks to you at the end of the video makes me wanna cry, because I believe that is the healthy way of a parent to talk to his child. She respects your personality and doesn't have any "demand" to reflect her own needs throughout you. Just beautiful.

I wanted to feel sorry for you but then I realized I was reading something I could’ve written myself. My mom’s the same. She thinks ‘differently’. She picks one of us (her 3 kids) to be a favorite for the month then cusses and threatens and just breaks our hearts with words the other two. Recently, we noticed she wasn’t talking to any of us. The three of us decided then that in the longest time, we’ve never felt this happy and healthy. We’re keeping things this way now on. Cutting ties with our own mother who always reminded us that we will never fit her standards and that we will never be as good as her. She’s been poison to us for as long as we could remember.

Omg ... you make me cried so much in this video. First of all.. your mom.. omg what what a legend.. the grace she had when she saw your biological dad and his family.. such a lady.. Second.. so happy you were able to meet you bio dad and be so open about it... life is about that... little moments that you can make big memories of... past is past. . and last when you visited your grandparents at the cemetery made me think about my parents so much.. I miss them dearly... every day.. I am so happy for you and I wish you and you beautiful mom the best in life.

I admire you Valeria, you're strong willed and very brave. I cried with you when you spoke about your grandmother, and I think now I understand fully how lucky we all are (yourself included, as you've said, you were not feeling a void) to be able to feel loved and cared after, by whomever that may be, family, not family, distant relatives, who knows? Thank you for being so raw and sincere in this vlog. I've been watching you for a year and a half now, and I can sincerely say that you have helped me become stronger, simply because you are strong yourself. What your mother said in your first vlog about your trip, how she knew that "Valeria" means strength, is true. Never doubt that, because I'm super happy that you've said yourself how proud you were after the cemetery. Your children and husband are very lucky to have such a fierce and hardworking person in their lives, something your mother passed onto you in a beautiful way. Please tell her that she is an example, not only for everything that she did for you, but because of her wisdom also. Love from France :)

I am a Russian girl born in ‘94 in Moscow. I remember growing up and hearing news about the war in Chechnya, about the attacks on Stavropol towns and such, and always being terrified of them. I came to Kavkaz for the first time ever in my life in 2018 via the same very airport in Minvody to ski on Elbrus. This region is magical. Being there soothes your mind, nurtures your soul. The nature, the people, the history. This small part of your story resonates so much with me. I absolutely admire your mother. She reminds me so much of my friends’s moms, self-made strong independent women, very elegant and beautiful, very talented, very tender yet so tough who managed to make it through the 90s and even come out of the situation with some economic benefits (like buying a large apartment in Moscow all by themselves). She is the epitome of what it means to be Russian (even though I perfectly understand that her background is so much more than just Russian). I aspire to become someone as strong and as wise as I get older. I wish your family all the best, peace and prosperity, and lots of happiest years to come!

I love your mother! she has such a strength and was in a way blessed with tough circumstances, that’s how people show their extraordinary sides. I relate completely to your feelings towards your biological dad.. my parents also married in their late teens, divorced a month or two after I was born and we never heard from him again even though we lived in the same town. I didn’t have resentment or anything.. I just didn’t know the guy!. My story has a different ending because now that I am in my 30s, he made a ‘comeback’ after discovering a thing called facebook and started harassing my mother, so I met him to ask him to back away.. and whoa, all I can say is ‘my mom is great but she just never had good taste in men’.. dude’s a jerk. I shudder to think what I would be now if he had been involved in my life. Blessing in disguise!. Anyway, you make me want to go to Russia and that specific region! x

I stumbled upon your channel like a week ago and I’ve been binge watching your videos (so I don’t even know if you’ll see this lol) but you’re so wise and real and after seeing this video I see where you get it from. Your mom is amazing. The story of how she (a successful singer and entertainer) cleaned up the sewage just to be in the ER with you at 8 months old is so humbling. And when you said that she never let her ego get in the way, it just really opened my eyes. Amazing words of wisdom that I hope to live by. Thank you for sharing. You are both so truly beautiful.

My mother is also russian and also left her country and moved to Germany. It is crazy to see all the similarities - from "Put in more makeup" to "we have to stick to our parents". And i also cry me eyes out when i remeber the passing of my russian grandmother. Having russian routes is a beautiful privelig - of being strong but also so deeply emotional with Hiding it mostly. I have the feeling that russian mothers go very often over their limits for their kids and family. It is in their DNA. Thank you for this reminder of my beautiful heritage and this very personal insight into your life. Emotions are beautiful and you are a beauty of showing them. All the best

I admire you so much for sharing this. I never been the kind of person who complained about social media being fake, but your sharing this story, this part of yourself, was so real and I relate to it so much. Like your mum said at the end, sharing our stories with each other will help us get through it. I know what it's like to have parents who sacrificed so much for you (your mum is so strong, I admire her so much), to see the world where they began and feel so distant from it but also somehow feel that it's so integral to who you are, and wonder how you ever got so lucky to have them. And what it's like to lose a grandparent so far away you can't even process it. I hope you get the chance to bring your kids back to that city one day and share these stories with them ❤️ And P.S., I also only want to party with that couple from now on! xx
