Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.
Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

OMG, I'm very excited to finally see this movie. I'm super fan of the comic book Valerian. A comic book that I find very small at the time, there is that 25 years. I flew with my father, Paris-Algiers, and my dad told me oacheté in a bookstore a copy of the tape-drawn Valerian. From the first lines, the raw images, I hung directly. I read read 4 times on comics, I literally devoured. I became a huge fan and since I Collectione all numbers of comic books. It was a discovery that has never left me. Also, I was not very surprised when I later discovered that the comic Valerian inspired George Lucas for his Star Wars movie. Even James Cameron was inspired by this comic, for his film Avatar. Besides, when we read the adventures of valerian similarities seen Star Wars. It's downright Meem plagiarized Mosnieur that Lucas did. In short, I am very excited to see the film. In less than 1 year, finally it will be dark room. I have waited 25 years to see this movie, I can still wait some smois. I always dreamed of living the adventures of Valerian. For me it is the most comprehensive database on the universe of Aliens, aliens, space and aliens worlds, Valerian dreamed me and made me love science fiction as no other work before . This comic is completely full, it is the richest and most comprehensive I lud ema life. I have all the numbers of the adventures of Valerian. I also have some numbers that are still in their protective cover, as collectors snapped collectors. Mr. Mezieres, the creator of Valerian is a visionary genius. Without Mr. Mezieres, the Star Wars and Avatar movies and would probably never have emerged. Mr. George Lucas to plagiarized Valerian, so it's only fair to Mr. Mezieres. I hope the movie will live up to my expectations and the movie will be faithful to the comics.

Not just the crowd; the big wigs are too. Bresson was incapable of providing any response to at least two questions other than "J'n sais pas". Maybe it's just that events of this kind are a bit dead in themselves - very disappointed, all round. As for pop-up "sweetie" Cara, I can only hope her role in the film erases from memory the shallow, 'bubbly' little act she put on here.

while cara seems to have a nice personality and good humor, her obvious disliking for press interviews is quite irritating. like at 14:00 when she said "Oh, did we schedule 6,000 questions.. just casually.." (or thats what it sounded like at least). and her eyes-rolling and mocking of the interviewer were really evident too, especially after the first ten minutes. while i understand she has sarcasm, and plays it well, that doesn't exclude the fact that she seems ungrateful and disrespectful to doing the post-production-work for this movie. it'll be interesting to see what the next year of press/interviews will be like, for her.

IMO Valerian is not really an alpha male. He is a traditional action hero, with the square jaw and good action skills... but he's also bumbly, kinda naive. He's not really a "thinker". Laureline is the strategist and the one with the social skills and the drive. She is pretty much the mastermind in the whole "time cycle" while Valerian is hangover, getting swindled by secret agents and trying to catch elements. First, I also though this actor looked like a young pretty boy. My girlfriend tells me (I feel that way just because I'm old now). All said, I trust Luc Besson. He seems to know what he's doing here.

Just in the first 30 minutes alone: She is knocked unconscious, with the brains of the man (who was just shot in the head next to her) still all over her face. Used as a drugs mule, has drugs sewn into her stomach, which then bursts as she fights off a rape attempt. Is then in a race against time to have the rest of the drugs removed before it kills her. And you say she's never in any danger... Sorry, anyone who calls the creator of films like: Leon; Nil By Mouth; Nikita; The Fifth Element and Lucy a "clown" is bordering on idiocy, imho.
