Don't let her put the blow dryer that close to your natural hair. You will get heat damage. It look nice but it don't look silk press it just look blow dryer. Silk press looks different in USA.

I'm confused on why moose was added to a silk press, that's usually for curls or holding.

Patrice's Laboratory some foams/ mousses have heat protectant ingredients

Nera Natural I'm not a professional or anything but it just kinda look like she used a holding "mousse" from the look of it. Her stylist should of known better.
@caroljean1617 жыл бұрын
It looks like the hairdresser didn't really know what she was doing or she conned you... silk press looks much smoother and there is lots of bounce and movement in the hair. On KZbin, go to deeper than hair project silk press on natural hair.... you can see the real deal there. Your hair just looks like you got a blow out rather than a silk press.

Magdalaine Yeboah hello there Magdalaine, I don't know if you meant to respond specifically to me, but you did, so I will respond specifically to you to answer. Please don't feel I'm being rude or personal. Your response which took the form of the question "can everybody stop telling her what to do with her hair etc etc..." I am one person who gave a constructive comment which she did ask for. Most of the comments posted were advising her that what she got was not what she was told it was. There is no drama here.

I don't think that's a silk press, but it looks good. next time try a silk wrap it'll be sleeker and last much longer with our type 4 hair.

Nice length but she shouldn't have had the dryer on your hair like that. That can cause you to have heat damage. The silk press cold have been better. I didn't big chop but I didn't put heat on my hair 2yrs. And my hair was super silky, and had bounce. Did she trim your ends?
@ValerieEgbuniwe17 жыл бұрын
yes, we did a bit of trimming because my hair needed that. My hair journey is a bit different as I'm on a minimal heat journey, not a no heat at all journey. I should get a cold one next but she ensured the heat wasn't a lot and used protectants for my hair too.
@Karamelmocha327 жыл бұрын
Valerie Egbuniwe without or with minimal heat it doesn't make a difference. I wish I could link a picture of my hair. I currently use heat to my hair maybe once to twice a month but I do it myself because my heat damage came from a "professional". I go maybe twice a year and get a silk press with a trim. My silk press had me feeling like I didn't have any hair on my head lol. Just wanted to give you a few tips. good luck on continuing your journey. Have a great day! 🤗🤗

You're such a cute little girl. Nice video. I probably would not do a silk press in Lagos, it's extremely humid so a press will not really hold. I think this is why people say it does not look like a silk press. I agree that it doesn't, but that is more to do with the humidity, Lagos is extreme, lol. If you have been then you will know. Your hair is lovely

July 7 would make it a year since my bc(i transitioned for almost a year). I'm a few centimetres past collarbone length. I tried a silk press, I think early this year by myself and failed, woefully if i might add. I was so pained and immediately tried it in a saloon too, failed too. So I'm still annoyed and swore never to get a silk press. I probably would eventually but till then. I deep conditioned my hair and that saved me from heat damage. Deep conditioning is essential guys.

when I get it I'd go to a non African as African hairdresser so don't know too much about this ..for instance your hair didn't have no life after like it should..it should be swaying maybe too much product was used or she didn't use any straighteners so it didn't give it bounce. .that to me just looked like a normal blow dry

sweety did you just say that shit cost 4500 ??? are you serious?? NO that shit is garbage. you could save ya money watch KZbin videos and do the exact same thing or BeTTER than what they did. you have natural beautiful hair yes, but love bug that was the kind of flat iron press I started out doing when I was in high school. you have beautiful hair and luckily that was only your first time and I can tell the shampoo they use wasn't bad but the conditioner didn't seem better. you always want the conditioner better of a moisturizer than the shampoo. TRUST me. don't let everybody do your hair. TRUST me. let me help you save money.

Kricia shunti it cost 4,500 Naira (Nigerian currency) its money from Africa which isn't a lot it's actually a gr8 price. If you were to translate 4500 Naira in US dollars it'd be under 20 dollars!!

Now let's get real , IF their was no relaxer or hot comb , women will lose their damn mind dealing with their hair , so everybody now jumping on the no relaxer or hot comb wagon , yes it's nice if that's what you like for your self , but if you are doing it cause everybody else is not good , I know coming up as a child , my damn head was hurting so bad when my mother use to comb it , i was about to lose my damn mind , IM TENDER HEAD AZZ FUCK , my mother use to hard press our hair , I didn't like that either , I could not wait to get old enough to get a relaxer , I was 13 teen yrs old when I got my first one , DARK AND LOVELY AT THAT , I was so happy , and yes I had very long hair up until I was old enough to get it cut in a style , my hair was never damage or anything , WHAT IM SAYING IS DO WHAT MAKE YOU HAPPY AND NOT EVERYBODY ELSE , I still get relaxers up until this day and will keep getting them , cause that's what I like , I'm not going to big chop my hair or none is this stuff I see on youtube , UNLESS I WANT TO , back in the day people wear their hair without relaxer or straightening it , this is not a knew tend , all these things people did back in the sixties and seventies , I remember when people didn't like it , NOW EVERYBODY RUNNING AROUND BIG CHOPPING THEIR HAIR AND EVERY THING , I'm just saying do what makes you feel good and what you like

dgordon20745 most people will do what they want anyways and there is nothing wrong with trying or going the natrual route because you see everyone else doing it the most you can do is try it not like it and go back to what you were doing before and let's keep it real although relaxers make our hair more manageable it is not good for your hair that will always be a fact but of course to each is own
