I can relate to this song on so many levels... Left my home in Houston and moved to Hawaii a few months ago. Literally walked away from Family, Fake friends and toxic past loves... because at that point in time I felt like a pot about to boil over. A bomb waiting to explode. I literally felt like I couldn't breathe. Like if I stayed another day, hour, minute I would die or snatch the life outta someone else. And even though I sometimes miss home this move was the best decision I ever made for myself and the people I love. For the first time in 35 years I can hear my own thoughts. It is just that a trucker. It is hard on the families at home. They don't understand why ya have to go and not stay with them. It ain't cause ya don't love them or don't want to be with them. It is just something in your heart and sole and in your blood. My father drove my son and nephew now drive as did I for a while. It was the hardest thing for me to stop. I did for the kids cause I went through a divorce again. I had to be there for them. I don't regret one moment of the time I had with my family but I do miss driving

Rick, I know not everybody sees it the same, but to me home is not where you lay your head. It is not where you live. Home is what makes your heart feel good, where you feel safe, and to me it's where you find the most peace and who you might find it with. In 2016 I up moved from my hometown in Arizona to Utah and met the love of my life. I'd always been afraid of being homesick so as much as I wanted Arizona I had never moved away until that point . With him I was never home sick because he was my home. He was where my heart belonged and where the demons were kept at bay. He died two years ago in a very tragic trucking accident. And I have not felt I've been at home since. I hope that makes sense to somebody.
