Hey, something somewhat rare from me, I dont often do build videos but I really wanted to try my hand at it with valheim, and I needed a storage shed for all the trophies and hide I was gathering in my house, So I figured why not, I built this storage shed on the pixel defects server at one point and liked it. I hope you enjoy the video, and thank you for watching. also would you guys preffer I show all the box placing or was cutting out that part good to move on the video? or should I have cut more out of that section. Not sure on it myself so thought I would ssk you all for your opinion on it for next time.
@saragyllenberg86203 жыл бұрын
Cutting it was fine :) Only feedback I would give is to only record when it's day time, the darker parts were hard to see. Nice to see building videos from someone who's not in creative mode! Will attempt to make this later!

1 tip I can give is to fill in the roof later, makes it easier to watch what your placing in terms of light level ( I am watching on phone atm in a train donno how good the lighting will be behind a regular monitor). Edit wasn't done watching yet, 10 seconds later you place torches. My bad. Other then that great building tutoria!l I love that you show what your gonna build next so if you already know how to place it you can skip forward. The speed of building is also great not to fast not to slow. Nice job and great design 👍 in terms of the chest placements this was fine:)

While I did something very like that in my first build attempt, I realized I have no 'fancy' bone in my body, the 45/25 angle beams as decorations in the background house blew my mind. A world of building with extra pieces that have no support value has been opened to me!

This is the reason why I love watching build videos myself, to me its less about the specific build but more about the inspiration and the tricks you pick up from seeing someone else put things together, when I played a survival game called Grounded I watched a youtuber called the pilgrim project, I found out so many things I could do from him.

Think I was able to make note of all the signs: • wood • stones • ores • bars • hide • craft drops • mob drops • mob drops • trophies • treasure • food meats • food plants What exactly would be "craft drops"? Would that be things like old weapons and armor you no longer use and just set aside? Frankly, I absolutely love this - it's sometimes easy to forget where things are stored and stops the never ending problem of "My stone box is full and now I gotta reorganize yet again!" Good for future-proofing. Edited to add - I also appreciate that this can be done in early game before even tackling the first boss. It's hard watching some fantastic builds and realizing you don't have the stuff to get to the next thing. The only thing for me is I would eventually move the food storage into a small pantry room in a main house with a kitchen.
@ZerosterGuides3 жыл бұрын
those are indeed what all the signs say, Craft drops I think of as things like wolf fangs, ooze, things I use often from mob drops and want in a separate container. also, I tend to use the storehouse as extra food storage and use a sort of kitchen storage myself as well. so we have similar preferences there.

I wish we could edit a name for any chest - so it would show up when you mouseover it. Because while this form of storage is pretty well organized, it doesn't exactly look good. And when placing chests to make rooms in actual houses look good, you get disorganized chaos and keep forgetting where you put stuff. Thank god for automatic pulling of items from chests from ValheimPlus - I can't even imagine these days how I survived without it.

I messed around and found that if you remove the bottom shelves and the upper 1x1 wood floors, you can fit 3 Reinforced Chests per section (2 an the bottom an 1 on the upper shelf) giving you 72 slots instead of 50 slots with the regular chests. A nice upgrade for later in the game.

"if the ground isn't level enough, place other beams" you can always level the ground perfectly. you just have to use the indicators correctly, the bar in the middle shows you exactly where it will be leveled to (usually your feet, if you don't press the shift modifier) with that you can always create a perfectly flat area.

Hi there, Zeroster. I've been playing Valheim with my friends recently and we look at your videos every so often for building inspiration. What I discovered in the process was that the cubby-hole concept I've been using (which I saw in a video a while back) was actually yours-specifically the sort used in this video. What are the odds, huh? Hahaha. Also-and I hope it's not inappropriate to ask-what is that backing track you've so far used in this video and all your others? I've been trying to find it, to no avail. I hope you can help, or at least tell me it's personal music, so it's off-limits. Thanks in advance, and for the cubby-hole idea I've been using since before now
@ZerosterGuides2 жыл бұрын
Hey, the music is the song played in the plains biome in Valheim, so you will most likely find it pretty soon in the game. "Valheim Plains Biome OST" is probably the fastest way to find it if searching for it. Also, that is kinda interesting, I haven't heard of the cubby hole concept, but the name alone does sound very similar to my ideal base. I often like to build very small, so I can reach everything fast. as well it does make building a base in a server or new area a little faster for me.

The section for stone I feel is a waste of space if you can just easily make stone stacks outside the shed or wherever you wish to put it. As far as wood goes, that section is only beneficial towards core wood and fine wood. Regular wood, again, you can just create stacks of and place them neatly in an area of your base. I ended up making a shed myself specifically for regular wood and stone, but regardless of that this video could prove useful to me only just make a shed smaller than the one you showed and separate to the one I already have. Idk I might need to re-evaluate my storage now lol
