I found Better UI works with Equipment and Quick slots, the trash button now works with them all, (sort Idk, I wish), the time and clock mods are mui bueno, and the farmgrid is a finger/wrist saver... hold attack too. Fast Tools and Instant Monster Drop are time savers too. I also run equipment wheel and autorepair, because again speed... All those are cool quality of life hacks to me...

Map Sync mod should be in top 5 if you are playing with your friends. You and your friends can sync all your maps and saved locations etc, its really good, hope they add it in base game.

Hit f5 type in "devcommands" then type in "spawn Greyling 1" Everything in the game has a word you can use to spawn so you can just acquire weapons and stuff if you feel like cheating

As nice as insta-drops may be, they are not balanced in the game. You kill something in the air or on a hill etc you need to kill it in the right spot or go chasing the loot. I hope they don't change this ingame.

I hope they add the ability to change what happens when using the scroll wheel. I almost never use zoom function other than accidentally changing it and it would be awesome to change it to instead swap through weapons on the hotbar.

Heh, I use it _all the time_ So much so that when I play something else I end up changing my weapon accidentally because I'm trying to zoom out 😅 Probably doesn't help that my 2nd most played game is Project Zomboid which also zooms in and out.

Only problem with the NoStamCost mod is that you can run around with your hammer (or other tool) and it doesn't use stamina, so it is kinda cheaty if you are low on stamina and are miles away from your base and just switch to the hammer and run all the way home.

But they kind of do already, since you do more damage with axes against trees for example you take less swings to chop down the tree thus saving stamina. Get where you're going though.

I just need a mod that would highlight the edges of beams (etc) when you're trying to place something in free building mode (shift). My OCD flips out when I misalign by half a milimeter :S

I found tossing items in places like burial chambers or swamp crypts despawns them fairly quickly. I had a base next to a burial chamber and found this while cleaning up greydwarf trash. The idea of a trash button does look really nice though.

Dude, some of these are lifesavers! With some config tweaks. Better UI is even better, when you disable the XP bar at the bottom, disable the "XP gained from action" in the top left and revert to Stars for enemy levels. TrashItems is better, when you enable the confirmation option. EquipWheel is better, when you hide your item bar top-left (that's what the wheel is for, right?). NoStam is kind of cheating, I don't use that. One you missed is: RememberIPdamnit. I play on dedicated and that one is the best IMO :)

You can already hold to continously attack/swing weapon in the basegame🤗. No mod needed.

So it works with the Pickaxe and the Axe. It doesn't work with the Hammer, the Hoe or the Cultivator. Just tested it. Still though, it is pointless if you're worried about carpal tunnel with mining or lumberjacking.

For the stam cost on building/terraforming. They just need to add a skill that levels up for it and reduces stam like most other activities. For the trashing of items, add a magicky compost bin that makes fertilizer out of anything put in it. Completely agree on the hold-click tools for mining and woodcutting, and certain weapons as well. The dagger and spear are good examples of weapons you want to spam at certain times.

There is a lot of room for modification by the devs. A modular crafting system that lets you build an item with different components allowing you to customize the stats. If a weapon had three components, and each component had 4 stat modifiers...stamina cost, weight/movement speed modifier, damage and crit rate), that would allow for 4^3 possible combinations. If I remember my stats class properly that is 72.

played a game that had that (craftopia i believe). you ended up with 16 different types of silver that didnt stack and having to make room after room for storage. i for one hope to not see this implemented. an enchanting system to add mods to your items? sure. but not pre added to the materials as stacking SUCKS

Well unity should be farily simple language, so if you extract the game files cause the game is compressed to 1gb, and then look around the files and look at the code they got, you should be able to see a pattern on how the game is build and you can try change tiny things and see results. Practice is key if you are not a programmer.

Is there any mods that add any seeds for trees with fine wood? It can be a real pain in the backside to go exploring JUST to get a bit of wood. I would rather just make a farm for it. Currently, BetterUI and Epic Drops dont interact yet, will probably change in the future with compastibility becoming better (With better ui, epic loot doesnt give a secondary summary of changes yet, like it would without betterui)

Too much info breaks all immersion. You're not supposed to know exactly when a fire is about to extinguish, or how full is a box before you open it, or the exact pain a mob has suffered from a hit, or how much more training you have to do on a skill to actually feel a noticeable improvement... A survival is not about numbers, it's about feelings, there's only two "numbers" that matter: enough, or not enough; ready, or not yet. You fight an enemy until it stops moving, not until a number tells you the next hit will be the last one. You fill a box until you see it's full, not until another number tells you you won't be able to put anything else on it. You feed your fires before they extinguish, not when a clock says that, and brew your drinks til you feel they're done or until you see it's not fermenting any more. For survival games, specially those ambiented in distant eras, the less info the better experience

( Update: Apparently this is now fixed ) Not sure if the bugs been fixed where some have lost items when they died as the gravestone doesnt hold the extra available slots worth of items...if you have a completely full inventory on death.

In general, mods are deterrence to games' original developers to make updates efficiently during Early Access period. The reason is simple, most updates during Early Access are "major changes", and will likely to break mods (and savegame). On the flip side, mods give the original developers access to creative ideas especially those QoL ones while they focus on main functionalities and issues.

i love this game. i have a few problems with it tho. it spends too much time gathering resources to build gear and upgrade it. only to risk losing it when you die. that can be such a pain in the ass when you have to walk one way for 40somethin minuts just to pick up that shit again. losing skill levels after you die is not so much fun after you have spent hours up on hours to get such skill lvl up only to lose sevral days of work maybe in a split second.teleport with ores would be cool. and im not saying the entire structure of how the game work should be changed. im merely suggesting that this game should be made alittle more friendly towards single players and give us options to how it should work for us through either in game options, or difficultys.. and then if we have the options to adjust this game to our liking, if it so should mean easier or harder, we could have the freedom in choosing what makes this game awesome to us. because im pretty sure a certain amount of player who baught this game just lack the patience to play this in the long run when they may lose more then they gain because its so punishing

You're free to use the console to spawn in the items you lose and get back the skill levels. That is, if you're looking for ways to make the game easier. I really wouldn't though if I were you. It's already pretty easy to get through all of the content that's currently released. Making it even easier would just mean you'll complete the game sooner and stop playing.
