This is actually some incredible analysis. Fights actually play out how you predict a lot of the time. I don't understand how you can understand the game this well and yet be so bad at playing it

Because those are two completely seperate skillsets. One is an academic pursuit, the other involves grinding muscle memory and in-the-moment intuition for hours and hours. You can be really really good at playing the game without ever actually understanding on a fundamental level _why_ you are good at the game. This is part of the reason why it's a bad idea to take pro players at face value when they're talking about game balance.

@@ArachneInTheWeb Yep. It's also way easier to conceptualize these fights in third person, viewing from above. Visualizing that in real-time while locked into first-person POV AND having to perform is way more difficult.

Hey Josh! Any plans on continuing your interview series with the players? They were super insightful and I think now more than ever we are in dire need of it just to inject some sort personality and put a face to these matches. Pretty thankful we have OWL matches now but it's so empty without seeing the actual players. Maybe a zoom interview post-match?

Why would shock not go double shield? they had a lot of success with it last year, and mirroring valiants comp would put some of the shocks players on comfortable picks
