At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Guys y'all need to be mature, why would valide give Hurrem what she wanted? Also Hurrem never wanted a regular position, how many conspiracies she did only to get married to Suleiman so that she can held more power than any of Suleiman's concubine. Valide accepting Hurrem's offer means she lost, she's weak and unable to rule harem all by herself which is on the context is all right, cause that's how it should be, the mother sultana gets all the harem power. Did Hurrem accepted Nurbanu when she got to know her greed for Hurrem's position? Even Hurrem couldn't stop Nurbanu because everyone has to die, it wasn't possible for Valide to stop Hurrem or Hurrem to stop Nurbanu. If Hurrem abided by harem rules and never disrespected Valide or tried to overrule her, make a crown bigger than Valide, deliberately making enemies with Valide, intimading Valide's position, disobey Valide's orders, break harem rules, divide the harem into two parts, one who serves Hurrem making Valide her opponent openly, none of the things happened, would happen. After Mehrimah for some time when Hurrem was much sane, obeying rules and was behaving properly to harem rules Valide was much pleased with her. But Hurrem and greed for more powers didn't let that pleasure go for long and made worse relationship with Valide day by day. From the perspective of a mother sultana, she did whatever needed to show her power. Even Hurrem would kill Nurbanu if she wasn't trapped in her hand because she would give testify, Hurrem gave her orders to kill Valeria and Suleiman's last child.

hatice should not have borne children if all she wanted was to be a lover and a wife, she killed herself after ibrahim was executed because she was not a mother, only a lover.. your life should continue for your children no matter what happens. and here she says she wants to be a mother who protects her children, which was a lie, considering how she killed herself in the end leaving her children as orphans.

That's a thing...I wonder if it's only me or what. I can recognize my mother's and sister's scents. I know by their scents that they are at home or those clothes are there or if I am sleeping and they come into my room I can tell that they came 😀

6.5 years ago, my sister and I lost our own mother. A woman with whom we certainly had our differences. But at the same time, she was a woman we knew that she loved us more than anything and anyone in the world. It was really tough. To see Suleiman and Hatice mourn their dead mother just brings back these... memories 😢😢 Rest in peace, mom. You too, Valide Hafsa. While I didn't like the fact that you started a war of petty jealousy and cruelty with Hurrem nor that you made Hatice a overly sensitive and entitled girl out of your overprotection, I am glad that you and Hurrem were able to make peace in the end

she was one of the strongest saltana she gave birth to one of the most powerful sultan in the ottoman Dynasty she has been through her War hurrem got her at her oldest her weakest point and even then in real life she never relented and and treat her bad she accepted her the stories just backwards pay respect to a real queen every woman has a struggle in different dynasty and she was the top dog and she went out like a top dog

The question is who isn't moved by such a reaction. While certainly I don't like the fact that Valide Hafsa overprotected Hatice and sheltered her too much from the harsh reality of life, I can certainly say that she did it out of love

Valide deserved her end, not only for being extremely cruel to Hurrem, but also for committing a number of atrocities. For example, at the very beginning of the story, she had an innocent girl killed in order to conceal Mahidevran's theft. In addition to that, she had Hurrem's horse and servant killed (she killed an innocent animal in order to harm Hurrem although she could have hurt or punished Hurrem in some other manner). Moreover, she had one concubine's tongue plucked out, which also testifies to her cruelty and ruthlessness. And not to mention her last assassination attempt on Hurrem- she wanted to have her burned alive (okay, she might not have specified the way Hurrem was to be killed, but was certainly aware of that it would be terrifying, given the number of enraged slaves). And, what is very important, she was ready to sacrifice her grandchildren by revealing Hurrem's secert and probably blowing it out of all proportion. Regardless of whether Hurrem deserved or not what Valide did to her (I know Hurrem's haters will justify her by indicating to Hurrem's ambition, misdemeanour, threats, or Hurrem's crimes), Valide was a mean, atrocious, cruel and violent woman by her nature, and I honestly believe that her attitudes and crimes are less justifiable that Hurrem's considering that she was way more powerful than her. And not to mention her manipulations with her own children and indifference to Hatice's feeling at the beginning of the story, she contributed greatly to Hatice's disorders, fears, excessive pride superciliousness, lack of confidence as well, etc. She may have been a good manager of harem, she may have been refined, skilled, intelligent and respectable, but also was an endlessly cruel and evil person, a psychopath of sorts.

The only person hurrem couldn't have on her side permanently was Daye.. Even though Daye stood by hurrem at one point and had her back, the only one Daye would serve life long and be with was Valide Hafsa Sultan
