Welcome back Paul, Yes, the girls did well on this climb. The lead climber was also on the Baggy Point, Twinkletoes video. She is a good strong and confident climber. Enjoy your explorations.

A great route

Hi Andrew, I agree with you. The name “Valkarie” means “Chooser of the slain” in Norse mythology. When you stand under this classic exposed climb, you just feel how imposing it is. I think the climbers did it justice on this occasion. I’m glad you enjoyed this video. I have plenty more footage still in edit, so make sure that you are subscribed, fit the notification and like buttons and please keep on commenting. Enjoy your explorations.

One of the best routes around

Hi Richard, I have to agree with you on that! I’d been hoping to get video on this climb for a while and I was lucky on this occasion to catch them climbing. I was on my way back to the Don Whillans hut for a cuppa when I spotted them climbing. We were on a BMSCMC climbing weekend and I had been videoing around The Sloth. If you haven’t seen that video yet, it’s worth a view! I’m glad you enjoyed this video. I have plenty more footage still in edit, so make sure that you are subscribed, fit the notification and like buttons and please keep on commenting. Enjoy your explorations.

Great video and even better climbing?

Hi @nickonfoot, Thanks for commenting. I had been hoping to catch this climb for a while. We we’re on a BMSCMC club weekend and I had not long finished filming around The Sloth. We we’re staying in the Don Whillans hut at the foot of Valkarie and I was on my way back there when I noticed that the girls were climbing. I’m very happy that I was there for this climb! I have plenty more footage still in edit, so make sure that you are subscribed, fit the notification and like buttons and please keep on commenting. Enjoy your explorations.

Advanced rope and rope drag management required. Well done!
@Up-and-Around2 күн бұрын
Hi @CCCarl123, Valkrie is well known for its ability to cause rope drag. I’ve heard of a good few climbs where the rope was completely jammed. We were on a BMSCMC climbing weekend. The lead climber on this climb was also featured on another BMSCMC weekend climb, Baggy Point, Twinkletoes video. I’m glad you enjoyed this video. I have plenty more footage still in edit, so make sure that you are subscribed, fit the notification and like buttons and please keep on commenting. Enjoy your explorations.

When I did it, a long time ago, no chalk or cams. The ‘ hidden ‘ foot hold had me worried
