I recently had to do this all again for the third god damned time... my brother got the game for his switch and wanted the dlc completed but could not get though with a walk though. Even I needed a refresher on this pain in the ass dlc. And the sheer amount of times enemies ducked my shots was insanity... took me two hours to beat assault on ghirlandalo because bad luck.

Sure they can be a pain sometimes, other than Selvaria the Imperial units you get have terrible stats and much worse equipment than the enemies. Even the tank is so bad that using it for bait/cover is the only use I found for it :)

Well, I play this game recently and the first mission is so different for infantry to get and kill the Damon tank so I gave up and get the route B. Not sure it works or not, but thanks for this walkthrough. It take so long to find how can I kill Damon.

Wait a sec...i just played the DLC, but after the second mission it ended for me. I was awarded the Ruhm and that was it. How is there a third mission???

Destroying or not destroying Damon's tank in mission 1 (16:10) unlocks two different versions of mission 2 (2A and 2B). You have to clear mission 1, 2A and 2B with an A-rank to unlock mission 3.

Now were the heck where these piss-poor imperial units when I was playing as the Gallians? Been trying and retrying these stupid missions for a while now but I'm not sure if all this hassle is worth just for a few minutes of playing as a Valkyria 😅

How do you avoid getting your tank blown up in the first round?

Not sure what part exactly you mean but I don't recall doing anything special. Just keeping its radiator away from being an easy target and positioning in a spot where the enemy would prioritize other targets.

@@LanzagranadasM79 Not sure why you don't understand what he means. He's talking about the very first round of the entire DLC. You left your tank's radiator pretty open and somehow didn't get blown up right then and there. I'm trying to follow this guide super closely but I keep getting annihilated, whether it's the tank or Johann's fragility or one of my foot soldiers not doing what they're supposed to do. But this is a good video for seeing how things can play out while you're trying to get through it. Thanks for posting.

@@sethzarandona2325 May I ask who or what is killing your tank on first turn? In this playthrough there was only one Gallian tank north-west (which shouldn't have a clean radiator shot), and one Lancer north-east who stopped moving because of Selvaria's interception fire. I had to repeat this mission multiple times (Johann getting killed, enemy Snipers landing impossible shots, my Lancer missing Damon's radiator, etc.) but I didn't have any trouble keeping the tank in one piece.

not that its super important but pretty sure the translators made a mistake with "elvin's" name. in Japanese its "Erwin".

Probably a mistranslation. The romaji for Erwin is Eruvin or Eluvin, so they figured cut the u and that was Anglo-Saxon enough.

It's easier if you get A rank on the first mission, because they give you more Leaders (CP) for the next mission based on your rank.

Well, this game has a lot of dialogue and I normally focus my videos on the gameplay aspect. Anyone who wants to know the story would have to play the game by themselves and watch all the cutscenes in between missions to understand the plot anyway.

Game designers: "Lets see... It's a paid DLC but we only have a few maps for this. How can we pad the shit out of what would otherwise be a 5 minute dlc?" This is how you do it boys. Be a complete asshole game designer. TAKE NO PRISONERS. Want a checklist? Here ya go. Game Designer Assholery 101 1) Cut off parts of the map for your overpowered character with overpowered weapon to move around on, thus limiting their potential to contribute to fight in any meaningful way? Check. 2) Make enemies much stronger than allies? Check. 3) Make allied characters miss everything and enemies super accurate? Check. 4) Make the enemy AI as ASSHAT-ESQUE as inhumanely possible when it's not accounting for human limitations and capitalizing whenever and wherever it can? Check. 5) Make anything from YOUR tank miss out of principle, no matter the distance or angle in relation to target, even blast wave damage? That's right! MISS. DOUBLE TRIPLE CHECK. 6) Make the game design shitty. REAL SHITTY. CHECK. 7) Laugh as we imagine the player trying to get that sweet RUHM only to fail to realize that half the people who play this game will never make it past Mission 7's almost equally shitty game design? Check. 8) Wipe butt with the dlc-buyers face? Check. 9) Necessitate save scumming to even have a chance at beating this dlc turd? Check. 10) Make the dlc so shitty that in fact, babies weep, women gasp and grown men come onto the internet to complain about it. Check. MATE. It's a tactical rpg so it seems apt here. This is a ambitiously cynical dlc cash grab for an otherwise classic tactical strategy game. Love the game and the story but holy shit this is terrible.

I literally could NOT agree more. I love the game. And Selvaria is such a cool character so I was so pumped to play a DLC about her. But my gosh these maps are pure evil for no reason. 😓
