Valkyrie Investment Guide - Updated for v5.6!

How many of you took that last line seriously? 💀 I just want to say this was probably the most stressful "investment" type video I've made. Even though I've made them in the past, this is the first one that felt like there were major changes in perspective, and many times I felt uncomfortable and hesitated before finally hitting upload. I don't know if you guys have noticed, after Flame Chasers started getting added, the release schedule has been aggressive, and it forces anyone who wants to play meta actually make annoying decisions. It's a really hard game of plan ahead. One thing I want to say though is: valkyries don't just become useless so quickly (as it seems people are thinking), and you would be surprised what you can get away with in Agony3 and Red Lotus (Agony4). After 5:44 the line between what you should get and what you want to get is extremely blurred. The truth is, you can really make a good case for any modern valkyrie. They're all genuinely able to perform very well outside their weather niche. Yes, all the damage dealers need their weapon, but the DPS stigmata requirement is a thing of the past. You could even say that I was harsh on Nyx, as I've seen her work and do quite well in lightning weather too! The bigger issue is when you don't have supports geared up for them, which is where things start falling apart. Is there possibly a """Best"""" investment path? Sure, if you work at Mihoyo and know exactly what's coming. Anyway, after reading comments & stuff, I knew a few people wouldn't be happy with my suggestions. People usually cheerlead what they already use and heavily underrate what they refuse to use (Yes I'm like 1 of 2 people in the entire server who decided to use TP & AKA still because they're genuinely good enough & I like playing them). Personally, I've started to think that you should just prioritize who you enjoy playing and build a proper team around them, but this is not something I can say in a video that is trying to be objective.

It's understandable. It feels like every patch they add something new which powercreeps something previously used. And now we're starting to see 2 S-Ranks (or 2 new valks with 2 sets of OP gear to pull for). Of course you explained that the "powercreep" is mainly due to whatever HYV decides to shill and schedule content for, so it's not technically fast powercreep, however that doesn't stop people from feeling overburdened and uncomfortable with it all. I remember when I started playing the advice was full of NS being must farm, farming VA and DK immediately too, and that there was a lot of long term planning with these A ranks to farm for. Looking at things now, the majority of A ranks are irrelevant and you can (and should) just skip out on that stamina sink by pulling for the latest shiny S rank instead.

Its really a headache and my answer is always "just play for what u like at this point" And 90% of ppl never satisfied with that answer and just roll every single xtals they have like genshin.Cant help much

This was a great guide honestly, and the valks are getting released so frequently so it IS getting hard to keep up if you really want to reach the upper echelons of the game (t100 and nirvana retention) but this guide is great for like 99% of the player base

As a veteran who made so many mistakes back when I started the game, I honestly gave up trying and just decided to have fun and enjoy playing with my favorite valks. Now I just go see who will be added next in the game and save up for then + their gears without bothering going for support. I find being competitive in HI3 as a f2p is really difficult so I suggest everyone who’s a low spender or f2p to just play the game at their own pace. You can try to build an optimal team if you aren’t too deep in but if you’re like me, stop being competitive completely and enjoy the game without worrying about optimization is a really good option.

Rn I just got to 70 and have been struggling from huge powerspike because my supports dont even have their signature gear, Im sentiless, and my Mobius and Delta are missing some of their gear. BUT, Im still gonna continue saving for Aponia and continue farming for Elysia anyway! Who cares if I suffer :)

Saying you can't retain RL unless u have xxxx means u either are missing key foundational pieces in your account or u don't know how to play well enough. Just search for vids of img boss in RL on yt and u will find some budget option videos.

AE really shines when bosses have high elemental resistance, in order to truly dethrone her, mihoyo either needs to make new support to have higher elemental breach, or ele bonus damage so high resistance doesnt matter, or spam bosses with low ele resistance to justify bringing sub dps instead of her

A piece of advice to new players : As u can see signature gear is very important, sure u can replace it with farmable stigmatas but imma be real with y'all it takes months just to get one powerful stig. The game is fun don't get me wrong but you have to spend a lot of money and TIME to get the big pp numbers

Yeah. It took some time but I learned to pull for new Valks only when I have enough crystals for Valk and all her gear. Most Valks are useless without their gears and are powercreeped to fast to wait with gearing them. Also it takes 2 versions of farming crystals at 81+ while getting max crystals from activities to get full Valk and gears.

Thank you so much for the regular updates on the valkyrie investment guide even though I kinda quit the game after 3 month-ish of gameplay. My opinion may not matter, but as a newbie, this kind of guide is highly valuable. Based on my experience, HI3's guide is very dynamic for the current contents. After a couple versions, you can see the shifts in meta already, and old meta valkyrie that you are farming may not matter anymore because, by the time you finish the new player event, you are probably approaching Lv 70 already. (When I first began, I was told night squire is OP(?) and I should farm her. Just think about how much energy/dayssss you need to invest in her to get to SSS, and now she is niche in end-game :3) The constant keeping up to date, planning, crystal management, and time-gated stigma/weapon mat farming really demotivates me as a starter. I already struggling in planning stuff for my irl work, so I cannot invest so much time in planning/learning HI3 mechanics. If you are just starting HI3 as a f2p, please understand you have to plan a lot. It takes time (months++) to see your team grow into meta and have patience (meta can change, always keep up-to-date). Lastly, make sure you have the right mindset and expectations. Happy farming new captains.

Question: With how mihoyo has been putting out a lot of Sp valks lately, how long do you expect supports such as Fischl, Haxxor Bunny, and Carole to maintain their strength as the premium support options for their respective elements? It feels like Mihoyo just needs to make a fire Sp valk and then Mihoyo is going to be powercreeping the older Sp valks.

Although powercreep is a concern, Mihoyo has some class about it. Even the "less important valkyries" will always find some use. They try to maintain at least a very niche scenario where the valkyrie will still be good (look at the treatment towards valks like Dea Anchora). Overall, this period of decent treatment is usually until they join the dorm supply and are farmable through witch orbs. Likewise, if you look at most supports they last extremely long. SA, despite mostly being outclassed by Carole, performance wise is not too far behind, and sometimes can even pull ahead (this is the more rare scenario, however). A similar but different case: you see valkyries like Haxxor Bunny: a year old already, but fundamentally is stronger than Felis. It's been seen that there are scenarios where Felis isn't needed over HB, though this is more in abyss. In Memorial Felis provides more use.

@@3rdvolition there’s two types. Witch’s orbs are what you get upon receiving a fragment of a Valk you already SSS. You convert the excess fragments to Witch Orbs and head to a shop you unlock upon receiving your first SSS. Witch’s orbs are a great currency as you can buy various helpful items like Asterite or fragments for a Valk you don’t have SSS. The second type of orbs would be Gold, but Gold orbs take dedication to unlock as you need to SSS a Valk that is in the Willpower shop or a gacha Valk. To SSS a WP shop Valk you will need to dedicate months of playtime or whale a bunch.

"Can fill up the ignite trauma" is a stretch since that little ignite isn't going to help much against bosses, you're better off using AE as main ignite source. Also HoF doesn't have extra damage on ignite so it's pretty much useless for her, until the arrival of ignite support like Felis to freeze.

HoF not having ignite only hinders her on weather where Ignite actually matters, which there are plenty of where it doesn't - It's just we don't see that as often now. HoF does not and never needed ignite to function properly, just 5.5 shilled Spina along with Dudu, and Spina does ignite and one of her best bosses is on an ignite weather sooooo yeah. Regardless fire teams really could use a fire SP valk soon. Is it just me who doesn't find them good to play compared to other teams right now?

I'm new at HI3 and just started playing because of my Genshin friends recommendation and I would say this game is fun especially when I use different characters to play, do their movesets which is really cool and awesome to see especially the Excelsis(whatever her name is), Fischl(Trial), Felis and Mobius. I'm lvl 33 now and I upgrade most of the characters I've got, for now I want to enjoy everyone of them and use them all.

It's fun to watch your video almost year after the upload and see just how well your predictions aged - HoT is free, she has a new weapon, Equinox is stonks thanks to being IMG, herrscher bias was real after all and raven longevity was..... well yeah. Now It's been almost a year since i started playing the game, Nebulous was my one of the best investments, "don't know what to do - roll on SP gear" and "supports gear > dps gear" were probably one of the best advices that helped me reach and retain red lotus as completely f2p player. You know those "if you could go back in time, would you change anything" sorts of questions? Thanks to your guide, even if i had a chance i wouldn't change anything - i'm looking back at the past year right now and clearly can see how your advices pulled me through the game. if you're good enough at the game and didn't screw up early on, it won't matter until literally you hit masters and break through to exalted, at that point, you're period of"playing for fun" is over and you start losing out a ton.

You can still use very old valks (even 6S if you're stubborn) in Red lotus with no issue. You don't HAVE to optimise and get the best teams with the best gear to hit t100 Myriad every week, but a lot of people want to and this guide explains how to do that too.

i would say any valky can carry you pretty well up to lv80 and even 81+ agony if you have full gear with supports. so if you really don't care so much to get 100 more xstals in exalted's RL, just choose the team that you like the most and go for it, I did it with nyx, who its my first gacha valky I'm very satisfied with mine account after 330 days, with 3 teams fulls. and sorry for bad english XD

Great video but just a few minor corrections: Elysia needs her bow, without it her dmg output is significantly decreased. She relies heavily on crit dmg and her signature stigmata set isn’t enough to boost the output. That’s when her bow comes into play. Dea Anchora does ignite enemies from her kit, her 5th basic attack ignites enemies for 10s. Shakespeare Adrift just adds on to the ignite bonus by extending her ignite duration

No, S: Adrift (T) does ignite, and no one does DA basic attack patterns. It takes centuries to complete. Wastes time, and your support buffs are gone. That's why he didn't mention about her basic attack igniting because no one uses it. Even igniting with AE's attack or Rondo's weapon is much better if no (T) piece.

I'm pretty sure what's happening with Azure is Mihoyo trying to push her into this 'cheap, generalist option' valk (which now that I think about it, is kinda the same situation as Phoenix). Like yeah sure, Haxxor+Pardo might be a stronger team comp but that requires investing into 2 gacha-only gear sets and the reward is 2 supports that are used in ice teams only. Meanwhile with Azure now, the only thing you really need to spend crystals on is her weapon, since Margrave is farmable and it's possible to get her for free through dorm supply tickets (slow, I know, but they might make her outright farmable at some point...I hope anyways) and the reward is a support that can 'fill in' any missing support slot in any elemental team comp. So at the very least we can hope she can stay relevant in this regard...up until Mihoyo releases another support with an even stronger elemental breach...

Hello. Since AE is a support, will she be on-field a lot of the time? She's pribably the only Fuhua I like, I like her moveset but if she's only gonna be present for two seconds before switching out I don't know if I want her...

my first meta valk was HoF and I was lucky enough to pull for her weapon. With the previous spending event I was able to get full Aslaug set for Raven, and have been farming for HoF gear, Raven frags and Rondo frags despite getting other valks (HoT, HoS, Mobius, PE, though I have none of their gear). My Raven & Rondo are now at SSS and SS respectively, happy that I made the right choice in fully completing a team instead of mix farming. 1:16

Physical teams definitely got it made along with Lightning teams for having very good DPS options and good support options. The only real caveat for physical teams is that you need HoS to even remotely function, and for lightning teams I've just found Fischl to be a pain in the butt to gear because her gear comes around so infrequently and there's just always other things I want to prioritize. Fallen Rosemary can also be pretty difficult to learn and play properly. Fire teams really need an SP option. One that can preferably ignite. With Ice and Lightning teams getting new SP options for their roles, Fire teams just feel worse and worse to play as time goes on. Especially since HoF can't ignite... Ice teams - Pretty disappointing that it's not even been half a year and it already looks like Silverwing is going to fall off. HoR is budget, and Nyx isn't an ice dps more-so than she's a quantum dps. Lol. Hopefully the next ice dps will prove to be a staple for a good long while.

@@joshuawang3154 Well, for Flamescion teams yes. DA has her own ignite (Despite its locked to her stigs...) and pretty sure Spina can ignite too. SR is only really viable for level 81+, otherwise you only have AE's fourth hit of her basic combo to rely on which kind of sucks.

Just started 2 months ago and i think i got a pretty good start with both HoS and HoF and their full stigmata nad weapons from starter banner. And now i got AE from the new supply with 15k crystals, already had her weapon and 2/3 margrave so far. Working on fragments for a bunch of different support valks now and its pretty overwhelming the amount of information when it coems to teams and what to invest in etc. This video helped a lot so far ! Think im going to have to save for some support stigmatas next i think? Im also really tempted to build fervent tempo as she just looks so awesome and i really liked her in the story, nut probably not best idea resource-wise ^^

Even something elysian realm inspired with limitations (like when it comes to the signets of gold, the higher your SP is, the greater the buffs you get, which makes you more considerate when it comes to ultimate casting and weapon skills, instead of mass spamming it every five seconds or so)

This applies to me too tbh... I got Mobius and HoS and a full Aslaug and left because there were too many grating systems constantly telling me "HEY, you're being inefficient if you don't do me regularly and you're going to be 'screwed' in the late game!" So now I've just made the mental decision to only play for fun and pull for fun. If clearing ER ain't fun, I'll just skip the rewards. If pulling meta happens to feel fun then I'll do it, but I honestly kind of regret getting HoS even though it didn't take me that many pulls. Just because who knows if she'll be relevant by the time I want to build a physical team (and I simp for many other chars more before her). For now I've decided on Ice since I like Pardo and SW and can probably finish Bastet with my savings.

I left honkai cus how greedy mhy is They released SW, scammed players for 20k+ xtals, then rolled out PE and SpA in 30k spend event and they only put a cat as dampening then goes Aponia and Eden ... 4 patches, 4 S ranks and 2 A ranks, continuously wanting players to gacha and one patched is only 6 weeks now, same as before but the amount of valks and crystals needed increased significantly and that 500 xtals from ER could not fix this assuming everyone clear 130D, and the most recent patches are poorly optimized, bugs and glitches are everywhere, low FPS with lag spikes ... Even with all these Keeby you still make such a good video and pay so much effort in it, really appreciated as an ex-captain and I have my hat tip for you. Respect ++.

This is more of them experimenting with spending habits. Ever since the mobius update the entire game has been like a big social experiment to see how people are willing to shell out money. And it always works. The community eats up everything. There were many who protested for having 2 S rankers one patch but got shot down when others defended it with "free". Since they got away with it since mobius patch, dual character patches will always be a thing now.

I really struggle with the Elysia in Ice weather so I started farming AK frags via. witch shop. But now that Aponia is coming up who I think will do pretty good vs Elysia I am not so sure anymore. What would you recommend? (Aside from pulling for adult Bronya)

No Turg T, no HB weapon, no recommended anything for Fischl and Carole due to skipped banners. Meanwhile getting full gear Raven and instead of rolling on Mobius' gear worked out really well. All this and I'm still thinking of passing on Felis' gear and saving for the shiny new upcoming S-rank. Then again, I might actually need Aponia since HoT is my only option and she is indeed showing her age.

Yes... but not much. With introduction of Ice support i.e. RC, ice DPS has more play in upgoing patch. Besides, nyx has wider coverage in RL patch and below (not first pick but you can finish many abyss content with decent score). Just keep in mind that Nyx is expensive to build and her weather im abyss and MA is niche to begin with, and ice weather shilling doesn't last forever

Also she really needs HB (fullset, or min. with her signature weapon) to prolong her burst mode attack. But if you could afford all that, her damage is very thick. People always talk shit about her because they didn't managed to fully build her
