mine (Z22SE) is leaking some oil and it's gathering just behind the oil filter, there is a crevice there. I wonder if it's the valve gasket. But it seems bone dry.
@Shadow_Sky792 ай бұрын
Mine had a pinhole in the plastic oil filter cover that let oil seep out under pressure.

Do u think it's possible to change 1 rod bearing without taking the crankcase off ???got spun bearing
@ValleyMobileAutomotive Жыл бұрын
You can replace the rod bearings by removing the oil pan. It's relatively simple to do. Make sure the crankshaft journal is still good before putting on the new bearings or it will have all been for nothing. A damaged crankshaft would need to be replaced.

Wrong you cant get to the rod caps without removing the crankcase
@Shadow_Sky792 ай бұрын
You'll have to remove the oil pan and the bed plate. If the engine isn't upside down, you'll have to remove the crank too or it'll want to fall out when the bed plate is removed.

@@waterfrommatthias5601 They are very similar engines with minor differences. What I recommend is getting a manual that shows you the torque specs and assembly sequence. Even a cheap Haynes manual should have that information. You can use this video as a visual aid if needed. But none of the parts in the description will match your 2013. Hopefully that helps

How much dose that motor weigh with out head on it doing one for my wife that the timmer chain guide broke in a million parts and a bolt was found on the bottom where the oil pain meets that 2nd main crank case trying to see if we could lift it out by hand no life thinking its about 350 400lbs at most
@ValleyMobileAutomotive8 ай бұрын
That's a good question, I don't know the answer to. I think bending over the car to lift something that heavy would be very difficult. A cheap engine hoist costs around $100 and would save your back.
@nathan_bruh.comedy97256 ай бұрын
Tbh it seems more complicated than it is as long as you know basic knowledge about engines you could tear one apart and put it back together with minimal problems with reassembly.
@LUVNSHMEV Жыл бұрын
Awesome video! What rebuild kit did you end up using? And you said you put new connecting rods in? Where did you get those? I know there is a TSB for connecting rods bending in these (destroyed my engine) I was just curious if there is a brand you recommend for avoiding that in the future
@ValleyMobileAutomotive Жыл бұрын
Everything came from Rockauto. The kit was mostly Enginetech. I can't recommend this kit though. The head gasket didn't seal and the injector o-rings were too small. I would recommend Mahle for metal components and Fel-Pro for gaskets if it's available.

I was following the book and noticed it looks like you let the tensioner spring out instead of resetting it. I've noticed issues when I set it and try to to suggest the book does and set it. Would you just purchase it in sprung?
