Though Valmiki and Tulsidas wrote Ramayan on the same central characters and situations , there is difference in the style and manner of presenting the narration . Valmikiji highlighted the ' maryada purushottam ' aspect of Ram . Ram in this Ramayan is an ideal person ; valient yet humble , strong yet soft hearted like a flower ; soft spoken and kind : an embodiment of all noble characteristics . Tulsidas ji presented leelas of Shri Ram with a devotional strain so that the story of Shri Ram evokes devotion in the minds of the writer and readers as well as purifies them from within . Thank you Swamiji for enumerating the differences in the composition of two great poets on the same grand theme .

Valmiki's "Ramayana" describes Lord Ram as "Maryada Purushottam," Valmiki ji emphasizes Lord Ram's virtues such as strength, love, sincere in His duty and commitment. Tulsidas ji's "Ramcharitmanas" focuses more on devotion to Lord Ram. Tulsidas presents Lord Ram as the epitome of devotion and divine love. Lord Ram is compassionate and merciful nature.A devotee can reach Him through sincere devotion and love.

bassed on ramayan it is clear to me that RAM in ramayan was NOT the god Ram. Ram in ramayan was a name given to the prince just as we name our children shiv, vishnu, krishna etc in this day and age. No one says those people are gods. Its just a name. So Ram in ramayan was just a name. He was NOT the god Ram. Everything is botched up in indian scripture & religious. I love Hindusim but yuo must fix the problems in religious books and literature.
