loved the video, tuff that riot eviscerated the t2 scene, however as a medium elo player (asc1) i’d love to learn more about how proper valorant is supposed to be played eg. common agent routings (kj lurking mid thru cat or tiles on ascent during A site exec) what proper util usage is (how do you know when enemies have wasted util) etc.

because while i’m decent at the game, i have 0 understanding of what good valorant looks like and its hard to personally gauge if im doing something wrong when i dont even know what’s right

Yeah man, in ranked it's kinda hard because you won't get consistently talkative teammates to feed you information. The way I learned a lot was by watching pro vods and not watching the game, but instead watching the minimap. Watch a pro game minimap and see how certain pieces of utility and presence being made causes certain players to reposition or push up or do whatever it is they are doing. Especially for killjoy setups/lurks, you can learn a lot about how pros will setup their utility and take lurk timings based on what their team is doing on the other part of the map. I should probably make a video on this fr

@@alt3sevens ty man, yeah common lurk timings would be an extremely interesting vid to watch, and i’ll try your method of just watching the mini map

emotions. i always carry ton of emotions going into every single game like sometimes u had a bad day (most of my days tbh lol) and then try to play some valo get killed once or twice and i start getting tilted and that's it ggs for me and i don't take that moment to question how did i die here and how it could've gone right. i think i should start recording my games like even if i don't realize my mistakes during the game hey...i can rewatch it at any time.

Enjoyed the video! College Val player here (Immo 3) and team has been struggling defining defensive protocols and how we go about creating them, would love your feedback on how to create them and maybe just some common ones!

First, the most common mistake a team will make defensively is trying to hold everything at once. Sometimes on defense it's better to commit to retaking a bomb site so you can have an extra player somewhere on the other side of the map etc. The key to making good defense setups is to have a starting point. Start the round a particular way or with a particular goal in, it can be literally whatever you want it to be. The hard part is reacting. Defense is a lot reacting to what the enemy does and having answers to a lot of 'what if?' scenarios, kinda like a flowchart for how the round is going to play out. For example, lets say you are playing Ascent defense, and you have 3A, nobody mid, and 2B. If the enemy starts mid, what do you do? Maybe your reaction/protocol is to push A main, maybe it's for your B players to fight B main. The key to a good defensive setup is not the setup itself, but how you are reacting to information you are getting around the map. Basically, if you have to take away anything from this, it's that you and your team should discuss how certain things the attackers can do will influence your setup and how you should react as a team. If your killjoy is calling that there is heavy pressure towards one side of the map, maybe the reaction there is the people on the other side of the map pushing forward and trying to isolate the other team's lurker. Whatever the case, the rest comes from getting reps in at practice, vod reviewing with the team, and really starting to sharpen how you react to certain situations. Easier said than done, but I hope this helps :)
