Great video and I have a few of these magazines with the cards still inside. Strangely, my version of card is different than what you are showing for both the Michael Jordan and Ken Griffey Jr cards. I live in Canada and bought those Baseball Price Guides magazines in Calgary. I wouldn't think they made different versions of cards to sell in Canada but facts are facts. I need to dig deeper to see what the value of those cards are that I have still attached inside the magazine.

Hey Brad really cool topic within the topic and while I have seen most of them before some of the values still leave me scratching my head. Much appreciated

Crazy that hand cut is graded high since you control centering and corners easily that way.

great summary of mag card inserts, thanks.... (i know them and glad psa slabs them)

I was not aware of the SI posters that had promo handouts that could then be cut out and slabbed. again, your vid on card inserts was informative (yes, i know about them) where you list significant sales in past is great for future reference.... the great aspect of SI kids cards are many times they issue a card before the big card companies do... thus, 1st appearance kinda like comic books, 1st appearance...

How did you forget Dwayne The Rock Johnson's FOOTBALL rookie?!?!?

You said recently that no one grades the cards from the 1st two SI's but right after that I saw a Ted Williams card from the first SI slabbed by I think Beckett. That Mantle from the 2nd SI should be valuable. Any thoughts?

@@sportsmags I can't copy and paste the link from eBay, but the graded SI Ted Williams I ended up finding looks like probably a fly by night company called AAA. I saw the Mantle card slabbed by another fly by night company called, I think, PSG. I can see not slabbing the SI cards when Topps ACTUALLY put that card out, but Topps never put that '54 Mantle out cuz of a contract dispute. IMO that Mantle should be fair game to be graded and SHOULD be valuable
