Hey Brian, I actually went to Value Electronics Yesterday and took the 50 min drive from NJ, hoping to be able to see the A95L and G4 in different ways than at Best Buy. I walked in and they were setting up and building chairs and the lady at the desk told me about the event this weekend. I totally forgot about the yearly shootouts. I didnt want to get in their way so I ended up driving right back home lol. But She said I could come to the event though and I thought what better way to compare the two TVs and even my 3rd option (Bravia 9) then have the best in the industry compare them and show them off while I watch. I’ll be there tomorrow and maybe Sunday as well.. im excited to purchase my TV from them this weekend!!

Actually, all of them are, but for my specific gaming needs and movies, the G4 is for me. This TV has serious brightness, the HDR is great, and the picture quality is super sharp with micro details. The processor is a big step up from the older models; you can see the clarity on the display. I tested the QD-OLEDs, and yes, they have superior colors, but they are not far ahead. The G4 has great colors as well; I doubt anyone will complain if they had it. There is no perfect TV-G4 has its problems as well-but I really enjoy it. It would be interesting if the value judgements made during the showdown were based on the “Viewing experience” rather than the black levels. I you walk around outside on a clear day, you will NEVER see black unless it is a black car or a pair of shoes. The black that creeps into the picture on a TV is the result of the cameras used which are incapable of equaling the eye’s ability to see into the shadows seen in real life. The result of film’s inability to faithfully replicate these shadows results in that space being filled in with black on the TV screen as a default. No special kudos should be given to a TV that produces a blacker default value than another brand. The blacker it is the less real it is.

*What no one says is that the "out of the box" experience is tested...* The TVs aren't tested what they are capable of. Just go into the menu, tap here and there - boom, better than default. Also most of the judges are eye-deaf and use glasses, so they don't even see the reality as it is. So who are the real winners, if it's a fair contest - calibrated + normalized best settings? It could be Samsung, LG, Sony or whoever. No one tells us, cos in capitalism and selling bullshit "the most expensive is the best". But in reality, it's almost never like that. Also using a "reference monitor" - who's saying that the reference monitor is 100% accurate (it also needs calibration, cos it's not 100% the best!) and does it have the same processing and settings like the other TVs? Who says that a 50 reference in "something" is the same value as 50 on another device - the other device could raise "something" by 200-500% like sharpness/color. *Sony BVM-HX3110 reference monitor and Sony TV wins - I smell corruption or at least "same default settings = looks the same = 100% reference = win".*
