Thanks for the vids. I encourage my 11 yr old to hit son cross-courts to open up the down the line. The down the lines seem to be drilled way less in my opinion then cross-courts. The cross court and then downline combo on the forehand or backside is an effective tactic from juniors to pro level.

thanks for the Videos. Problem I have hitting cross court putting too much spin and the ball lands short giving my opponent wider angles. I think most players hit/practice too much done the center and not enough cross court to cross court or down the line. I have changed my practice drills to start out cross court (both sides, Which includes short outside of the ball dipping shots) down the line (both sides), then move up for volley's. Seems to help but I still sometimes hit too short in the court due to loopy topspin shot. maybe video on forehand drives verse heavy top spin different in stroke?

Sure, the corner of the singles court is further away when you're hitting cross court, but the angles you really want to be hitting cross court are a lot shorter in length than a deep DTL shot.
